i've been using the phone since its release.
-The best way to avoid too much lag is by saving enough space on C: Phone memory at least 100mb.
-The display improves after the Belle update.
-the camera captures good photos in well lit places
-use themes such as 'Symbian Phone Green' by daeva112 just search 'symbian phone' on Ovi Store. The theme is a WP8-styled theme. It really reduces lag
-other features works just averagely well. Lag cannot be avoided all the time
-dont buy this phone if you want to play games. Most of the games are bad quality

Install (netqin) mob securty, restart your phone, open it and do system optimization---select the unnecessary background processes(excluding whatsapp and netqin)and optimize. This phone has very less ram... so app-hungry folks should compromise.

This mobile is a good one for light use... but it lags/hangs in multitasking and using many apps, themes etc. Touch is good. Camera is traditional clarity.. nothing special. Music is average loud and clarity is nice. There is NO issue of calls, network and sensor. 3G works like a charm! Upto 360 mp4,3gp,flv videos work jerklessly.. Whatsapp and we-chat work.Overall its a nyc phone for novice users.. Android blinded lovers stay away from this!!!

I'm using it since the start of 2013, first i was happy but now it restarts iyself, its a wonderfull device if u want any help goto fb and search 'n8fanclub' and goto www.n8fanclub.com for games apps n mods, if u people want any mod then reply me :)

If you put your fingers in the screen recognizes two of them... You can minimize and maximize the pictures with your fingers (awesome) ... If you IMPROVEMENT the OS.

Give a hard reset to your 500 and
Delete almost all apps from phone memory ( C Drive ) such as Quick office, Social etc.
Keep it 100Mb free.
Then
Automatic restart problem of Nokia 500 Should be vanished.
This is my prsnl experience, try it guys
there is only adobe reader,whatsapp, email and default applications are on the c drive of my 500.
