I am Canadien,the update didnt rich North America,not yet,but I found up, that using memory card lead to some problems like restarting,hangs,full memory,so on,some apps from ovi store as well.So I dont use memory card from beginning.About WI-FI and option to turn it off.Go to setting and find the timer for scanning new networks, change it to maximum, something like 30 seconds,now its 5 sec., this works for me great,and I switch it on when I need it only,by the way,the battery life last longer up to 3-4 days,with minimum internet usage.Go Nokia go.

I'm also getting problem to use camera always coming "memory full. close some applications and try again." even have lot of free space?

why my mobile AUTOMATICALLY connected to wifi?
i have to disconnect it repeatedly ?

Hi there,I agree with previous man,use your phone like phone,this is not hammer.If some one planed to buy this set-go for it,this is the best set for this money.Could not decide?,check the opinions on low budget android phones you will see how bad are they.I use 010.029.version and happy,yes I avoided to use same futures,but coll quality, camera,maps,touch screen,and mach more killed the lags.Belle on its way hahaha.

500 is a gud phone.... its restarting issues gone after software update. Now it is working fine... I like it...

i really really ike this phone!!! i have it for a weeks,.although sometimes experience restarting only in the web browser and maps but ONLY SOMETIMES,. i think it depends on how the owner use it,me i've never download anything apps in ovi,only themes 'cause when i install apps,i found that this is the problem,and bcause of the RAM.so i format my mass memory,and when i buy this phone i update the software first in NOKIA CARE to 011.033,.so far no reason to be regret..still waiting for symbian belle update :)

I like this phone because at this range it has 1ghz, 2gig internal, and 5mp it support flash player. Compare to the other phone at this range, im using 5230 the only problem i encounter is lag because it has 434mhz, but this phone has 1ghz. Less lag.

so 1st day i have the phone..
it is a little sad..
it crashed twice and rebooted..
1 time when i was testing the mp3 player and 1 when i was testing opera mini..
also the maps and navigation are so buggy..
oblviously the phone doesnt work as it should be..
but if the problem can be solved or IF we are talking for the Nokia 500 generaly without buggs..iam very impresed from the phone..
i have to say i totaly agree with the friend of the previus post...
perfect value for money..

I don't get it... Why you all hate this set so much? I'm using this phone for a week now and I must say - it's probably the best value for money, you can get. Ok, it has some drawbacks, like web browser and RAM capacity, but for gods sake, look at its price and then complain. Display is just superb, crisp clear, bright and touch is responsive (although I prefer resistive touch-screens) as needed, gps nav works flawlesly, call quality is great... it's no need to count all the good stuff, cuz it's easier to add up the bad. RAM, web browser, lack of 3d gpu and no resistive touch...
Ps. Don't use it as nut cracker and it won't crash/hang/freeze whatsoever. Mine hasn't

I used this phone from past week, Not at all satisfied with this performance and some times the apps are not installing properly like yahoo cricket and ebuddy messenger (it says installing....... not at all installed) even though ihave a high speed net (wifi) @ my home.. so sad.. I'm a easy goin guy i have so much regrets towards this nokia 500...... not at all woth for its price.. waiting for its upgrade to balle and i'll try to post some better news on this phone(hope so)
