The old model of this type was a none GSM model, the Nokia 5300 or 5600 series. There was a handsfree car kit with extended speaker and mic. My question is; can we use this model 5110 also for that car kit.
Does this model 5110 has a connection on the back for an extended antenna?

Got it 10 years ago in Finland. It still works. It was charged 5 months ago and still has some charge. It does not play music, show movies, cook dinner, show maps, but it works as a phone and very well. Pity they do not make it anymore.

Yeah there were two versions of this phone in America: the Nokia 5190 and Nokia 5125 (but the last one isn´t GSM but TDMA). My dad has a 5125 since 2003 but actually he doesn´t use it anymore because he bought in 2005 a Motorola E380 and today he owns a LG f2100. But after all this is a very good phone, I have used it several times and never let me down. For that reason I´m very loyal to Nokia (I own a 6230, 6682 and thinking on buy a 6120 classic next month).

here in Guyana we call it 'De Wartank' it's just THE TOUGHEST GSM PHONE i've ever seen

2nd place is held by the Motorola C113 a.k.a The PEBL a.k.a The BRICK

Nokia 5110... This is where it all started for Nokia. A classic phone, indeed. I still remember in college days, way back in 1999, when almost everyone owns a 5110. With changeable Xpress covers, a person was considered very cool when owning a 5110. Those were the days of a bygone era. I feel nostalgic about this phone.

What a fantastic phone. My one got run over by a car, dropped down some stairs and trodden on more times than I can count, and yet still carried on working for years and years. The user interface was amazing as well.
I've moved to the US so can't use it over there, but does anyone know if they made a North American model?
