Have you found any change in the media player spe... morei've updated my nokia 5130 to firmware 7.96....its kinda disappointing cause the screensaver option is gone especially if you wanna use a flash file....in the media player,especially in listening to music...changing song to another song...it lags for a few seconds...but updating your music library is fast....so its up to the user if you wanna update it to 7.96....

Can anyone plz tell me that can the voice commands in contacts be removed? I mean whenever I save any contact the voice command of that contact is saved automatically.Can we disable that feature?

Robert, 29 Jun 2010No, you cannot download it and install it offline. It will ... moreNo offline flashing is easiest and risk free method of upgrading.
Once you got all the softwares and upgrades ready.. it takes a mere 10 minutes to upgrade your phn. NSU takes 30-45mins. During upgrading through NSU if you face a problem with your internet or a power failure our phn will be dead. NSU has no function to repair a dead phn. Flashing is not affect by internet conection or power failures. It also gives you an option to repair your dead and saves Rs 200 which you have to pay to Nokia care for getting it repaired.

I never needed it before I got 7.xx. Problem with NSU is that you cant flash dead phns with it and nokia may say u already got the latest version. Flashing is the safest way to upgrade/repair your phone. It takes just 10 mins to flash your phone.

dont waste ur money to buy this fone..
i just hate it..
its outer look is very cool but there are lot of inner prob in it..
if u have excess of money then go for it,,otherwise dont buy it

Yeah, I have this phone, I'm very satisfied, applications like StopWatch and CountDown Timer are very useful, this phone is cheap and provide a lot of functionality.

NOKIA 5130 Is Really Cool Phone!
Everyone here is just freaking out wrong info. !
I've been using it for the past 8 months...
Its rockin'!
And the net speed is great on IPv6 (EDGE) network!
But the BATTERY drains too much if you will browse it for more than 3 hours!! Butter plug-in the charger... then browse!!
Its cool..!
And another prob. is the Video Capturing Quality is very poor... Xcept these.. Everything is fine!
and the music output as well as input is really cool..!
Use 'ear-bud' type headphone than the one which was provided by nokia for better experience!!
Out of 10 i will give 6.5! Go For It.. If u r a music freak... But dont go for it if u like to use net.. bcoz net speed is good, but due to poor battery performance (while on EDGE network) i m not recommending it...

this fone i got in april this year it is very crap the fone as many problems like it turns off by it self and
the battery doesn't hold as long as the websites sed this fone is just one huge problem.

the camera and music player suckes you can hardly hear the music when the fone is right next to you on the bed my fone turns of by itself please help.

This fone as a bad camera it has hundreds of glitches and problems that costs alot of money my the fone turns off by itself when i am texting or calling the battery life very bad plus it's music player is very very bad this fone is a total rip off.

My phone is out of warranty in the first place. After updating, if my phone's firmware starts to corrupt then i won't be able to reinstall the software again. If only i could do offline updating, then i could reinstall the software again and again from the same pc (which is possible).

It will take about 15-30 minutes for Nokia Software Updater to download and update your firmware. But some sites have an offline version and some flashing tools but this is risky and a tedious, complicated task.
