An extremely good phone i reccomend to all great camera quality and good volume projection except the earphones are a bit dodgy mine are fine but some others have had problems with them all in all 8/10 (great)
way better than the 5220

this is an average phone..... handsfree is like local one... sound is loud but u cant expect good clarity at max. volumes.... try other fones..

Guys, can I ask something? Uhmmm.. How's the display quality of this phone? Does the display have a wide viewing angle? I'm asking this because I didn't really like the 5220 since the viewing angle of its display is very bad. I mean, when you tilt your phone to the left and look at the screen while tilted, the display becomes illegible because the display fades and all you see is a blackish color.
Is the same thing happening to the 5130? Is the viewing angle of this phone wide? Please help. I'm gonna buy a new phone right now.

LG 200 of course will win in your comparo. It is widely acknowledged that Apple's iPod is the best music player around. GSM Arena after it's INSTRUMENTED and SCIENTIFICALLY CONDUCTED audio test concluded that nokia 5130 is at par with Apple's iPod, who are you to declare that your LG GM200 is better than the 5130? I will only believe in GSM Arena's tests and not any of your HOMEMADE TESTS.

OK i agree with you on ipods and iphones but, SE walkmans...the present ones are good try to stay as close to original sound as possible. Most of the older models with the mega bass feature had boosted bass and treble which made them deviate from original sound. Anyways its nice to see that they have rectified that in newer models like W995.

"Finally i brought 5130 XM" after a 30 days confusion with a lot of comparisons and daily review readings.
i thank gsmarena, thinkdigit and more than 13 sites for helping me in my decision making. Oh! boy it was tough to decide but finally brought SILVER colour it is far better and decent looking than those toy colours RED and BLUE even real handset look dummy LOL.
well camera and video recorder is good if u use properly wat i mean is light conditions and phone setting before taking pic or video and when transfered to PC u will be surprised to see the quality.
Music is "do i have to say" common it is Xpressmusic dedicated to Music!! ok it is Excellent. yes just like sony walkman phones and xerox of i-phone g/gs.
well some say GM 200 is better, here u have to understand that 5130 keeps its audio quality to ORIGINAL -thats what Sony, i-phons and i-pods do.
Dolby is a sound modification technique which distribute the audio signals to different channels and only effective in 5.1 or above speakers configurations. In mobile phone or even in 2.1 u only feel hall like sound which has improper echo and lack rest of channels. it'll be much better if they give SRS technology in place of DOLBY.
5130 OS is fast and responsive with good layout, i still has to explore more. "VOICE CLARITY" feature really improve sound also in handsfree.
well what disappointed me is battery backup but if u use it like ordinary phone means no camera,video,music,fm and games then it's ok.
Earphone is of very,very low quality (made in china that's why? lol) no serious nokia should think that they r selling a music dedicated phone, charge few bugs more bt give a good quality earphone well thank god that phone has 3.5 mm jack so u can buy good one -- wait a second "thats why it is of poor quality just for formality (how u feel about 'no headphone with phone') even nokia want's u to purchase good one.
original headphone do not give u walkman phone or iphone quality. Radio reception is also bad (it is a headphone fault not phone) u not even able to scan channels. Replace it with new one and feel the magic high quality audio and Radio sound, even catch all the stations.
"Stereo widening" feature is also good bt equilizers feel non effective wid it,certain song also not support it properly and sound dull, largely support it and u get DOLBY substitute. hahaha
5130 is really a well balanced phone and dont forget it's new sony and apple rival.

Just want to ask to all the previous user of this phone. Based on your experience in using this phone, what are the goodside and downside of the unit (features and technical)? I can't still decide if I'm going to buy this unit or not. Hope you might help me to decide if I'll buy this unit or not. Thank.^_^

I have some probem with my h/s .Some Themes(having 352kb) are not working in my h/s. when applying the theme IT showing "unable to open theme corrupted". Any idea to overcome this situvation.Ibuy this h/s abt 3 months ago

oh really it s a bad phone because its ringtone and wallpaper are automaticaly changing to default within regular intervals.i checked it several phones.
