Anonymous, 28 Sep 2009Mobile phone loud speakers are not for hearing music, yeah ... moreI agree... mobile phone loud speakers are not ment for listening to music... then what's da point in having a loud speaker in the first place? Everybody loves to flaunt their new rings or their fav songs with their friends. if that is the case, then GM200 can deliver good audio without any cracking or distortion. Nobody's gonna complain if their phone has a kickass sound that everyone can listen to. What about radio.. plz don't tell me you like enjoying you music through earphones only... If mobile loudspeakers can deliver great sounds, everyone's gonna take it and what good is a loudspeaker if we are not listening to some good old music. I took this phone solely because of its speakers and woofer.

i'll just be giving tips on this phone..think you should minimize on downloading files[invluding music, themes, wallpapers, etc]. for you to avoid such problem like slow down. and hang up. cause it cannot keep up if your a techi person. ^__^

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2009Ohh brother you never learn, do you? Now you seems to have... moreOk.... Ok.... tomorrow I'll get ma friend's 5130 and conduct a thorough comparison. Same songs, same earphones and same listening conditions. I'll be honest with you... And let's make this a healthy and non violent competition.... The reason might be last time i only had a chance to listen to regional songs in his 5130. But you should admit that the loud speaker is not upto the level of GM200.

P.S. I think I deserve a million from LG for defending their phone against Nokia. I sure hope they would pay me for this.

"Finally i brought 5130 XM" after a 30 days confusion with a lot of comparisons and daily review readings.
i thank gsmarena, thinkdigit and more than 13 sites for helping me in my decision making. Oh! boy it was tough to decide but finally brought SILVER colour it is far better and decent looking than those toy colours RED and BLUE even real handset look dummy LOL.

well camera and video recorder is good if u use properly wat i mean is light conditions and phone setting before taking pic or video and when transfered to PC u will be surprised to see the quality.

Music is "do i have to say" common it is Xpressmusic dedicated to Music!! ok it is Excellent. yes just like sony walkman phones and xerox of i-phone g/gs.

well some say GM 200 is better, here u have to understand that 5130 keeps its audio quality to ORIGINAL -thats what Sony, i-phons and i-pods do.
Dolby is a sound modification technique which distribute the audio signals to different channels and only effective in 5.1 or above speakers configurations. In mobile phone or even in 2.1 u only feel hall like sound which has improper echo and lack rest of channels. it'll be much better if they give SRS technology in place of DOLBY.

5130 OS is fast and responsive with good layout, i still has to explore more. "VOICE CLARITY" feature really improve sound also in handsfree.

well what disappointed me is battery backup but if u use it like ordinary phone means no camera, video, music,fm and games then it's ok.

Earphone is of very, very low quality (made in china that's why? lol) no serious nokia should think that they r selling a music dedicated phone, charge few bugs more bt give a good quality earphone well thank god that phone has 3.5 mm jack so u can buy good one -- wait a second "thats why it is of poor quality just for formality (how u feel about 'no headphone with phone') even nokia want's u to purchase good one.

original headphone do not give u walkman phone or iphone quality. Radio reception is also bad (it is a headphone fault not phone) u not even able to scan channels. Replace it with new one and feel the magic high quality audio and Radio sound, even catch all the stations.

"Stereo widening" feature is also good bt equilizers feel non effective wid it,certain song also not support it properly and sound dull, largely support it and u get DOLBY substitute. hahaha

5130 is really a well balanced phone and dont forget it's new sony and apply rival.

Nevin Joseph, 28 Sep 2009Ok since I'm the only one being crucified here for telling ... moreOhh brother you never learn, do you?
Now you seems to have changed you approach a bit. Now you say 5130 is good for bollywood stuff only. Well buddy your wrong again. If you notice the frequency response of 5130 you will notice that its right along the middle from the extremely low range to high range. That shows you that it produces excellent bass and treble. BTW none of the reviews are saying 5130 has excellent audio quality simply by listening to bollywood songs along. Most of 5130's users listen to heavy metal, techno, rap and lots headbanging stuffs...and you'l feel like your sitting right in the middle of a rock concert with 5130. The only downside of 5130 is its supplied headphones...not a problem as even the best headphones produced by nokia are not good enough for 5130's audio quality.

gm200 is just an average music phone for ppl you have no idea about what listening to music is about. There is nothing special about gm200. Even the supposed dolby feature is complete failure....The phn is virtually unknown to most ppl and there aint no good reviews available. All points to fact of what a big failure gm200 is.

Now, everyone would acknowledge that ipods are considered as a benchmark when it comes to audio quality...and there is scientific proof that 5130 is as good as the latest ipod tough 2G.

This maybe hard for you to swallow but 5130 is the ultimate music oriented phone there is. live with it.

Now your repeated coming here and writing this crap abt gm200 makes me wonder whether you are getting paid by LG for this.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2009Pen IslandOk since I'm the only one being crucified here for telling GM 200 is a better music phone than 5130, let me bring out to you the features unique to GM200. Forget the millions of themes and zillions of games available for Nokia phones. Since this is a music phone, let's compare it from that perpective.

1)GM200 supports every popular music format that 5130 supports.

2)It's got Dolby mobile which is yet to be featured on Nokia phones.

3)It's got stereo wireless FM with recording in mp3 format... the reception is also outstanding.

                  4) For pure music freaks, its got stero speakers and a woofer to pump out lots of bass and treble. 5130 audio doesn't even come close in terms of volume and clarity. It is really an attention grabber.

                  5) Another unique feature of GM200 is smart profiling.

                  6) Battery is 1100mAh... Need i say more?

So a metalhead like me always demand quality and quantity of sound and I tend to have found the perfect balance of both in this phone....

5130 is a good music phone for an average listener who listens to a lot of bollywood stuff. but for headbanging stuff, GM200 is the way to go. If you listen to heavy music, you will notice the difference quite clearly. Though 5130 has great audio quality, at some point we tend to feel that audio is getting a bit dampened and losing out on fidelity. There's nothing to complain or worry about as it is unnoticable in most cases. So you wont feel a difference. This is just my opinion and no two ears are tuned alike.... I'm just waiting for the official review of GM200 by GSM Arena. Let's see what they will have to say...
