Thomas Ben, 20 Jan 2009If any one of u tell me my firmware is updated with 5.20 Ve... more"My battery life is not even coming for 1.30 min for music & less than one hour talk time then the battery totally sucks"
Well, something is obviously wrong. Try full charge-cycles with little/moderate use in between, to see if the battery recover over time. Avoid excessive overcharging, but never completely drain the battery either. Only use Bluetooth then needed.
My 5220 only lasted about 12-15 hours the first times (with moderate/heavy use) - but now I get at least 4 days out of it (with little/moderate use).

Please Help me..
I tried to update my firmware (v 4.00) ... more"I tried to update my firmware (v 4.00) using the settings in phone.. But it says Nokia web site has no new firmware..."
In order to update to the latest firmware (currently v5.20) you have to install both "Nokia PC Suite" and "Nokia software updater" on your PC. Then you connect phone to PC with your Mini-USB cable. Open the "Nokia PC suite" app and click the green-white update-button. Follow instructions on screen.

Please Help me..
I tried to update my firmware (v 4.00) ... more
After I myself found out how to update the firmware and I did it successfully without any trouble..
Updating the firmware is very easy.. You can go to nokia forums and then you have to find whether there are any firmware updates for your phone... To do so you will have to enter the model no there.. (What's model no.. and where to enter you may know... Very easy..)
Then you should download the nokia updater software... It's very easy and would be given free...
It's about 25 MB and then you should install that... After installing it, you should connect the phone through USB to the PC and software itself will automatically upgrade the firmware.. This will take time according to your internet connection speed.. It took me about half an hour and size of the update was 38.5 MB...! Somewhat big though...
So.. that's very easy... You won't loose any of your data or even your settings.. You don't have to worry about any data loss...
Feel free to follow as I say... IT'S TOTALLY FREE...!
Good luck..

Please Help me..
I tried to update my firmware (v 4.00) using the settings in phone.. But it says Nokia web site has no new firmware...
But I saw some people in this forum are talking about V 4.86 and even V 5.20...!
So first I want to know whether there are such real updated versions or whether they are fakes...
Second if they are not fakes then how to download and install them...
Third when installing will there be any problem.. memory losses, hardware troubles and other side effects..
Please can somebody help me kindly for this...?
I'm very new and know very little about firmware updates and all...

hu, 18 Jan 2009nokia says the fone memory is expandable till 2gb only but ... more
Here we go... again!
-----Quoting from my previous post---------
After reading HERE
http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/5220_XpressMusic
(go to Memory Functions and see for yourself)
about the 8GB card, I went and got one.
It WORKS!
Before that, I was using a 4GB card without any problem.
That 2GB card thing you read was probably with the first firmware.
----There! Got your answer, I hope---------

Mine works fine with 4gb cards but I haven´t tried 8gb cards due to the fact I don´t have any available to test.
About speakers I think they´re fine, they obviously can´t match the sound of my 5700 speakers but in headphones it´s another story.
You need to consider that 5220 is very tiny so the speakers are as well tiny.

About battery life, first three times the battery should be fully discharged and charged for at least 6 hours, full night will be good.

tbun, 16 Jan 2009for those complaining about battery life, could you post wh... moreMine is made in Mexico and came with v4.60 but I updated a week ago with 4.86.
I have 2 weeks with my 5220 so maybe isn't enough time to make a conclusion about the battery.
When I bought the phone my carrier told me to charge 8 hours but I only charged the phone 6 hourse before use it. Do you think this could be a reason???
