Lihan, 11 Jan 2009Oh luks lyk i cudn catch luis.so can any1els reply2ma ques.... moreAbout 320*240 pixels videos, there is no lag. 5220 plays them very well but they need to be with a framerate of 15fps. I'm not sure if 5220 can play a video with higher framerate but at 15fps it plays them very well.
The options available when playing video are:
    Landscape mode
    Fast forward
    Rewind
    Mute
    Add to playlist.

The light sensor works only in camera mode. It serves as an auto Night mode so when there is lack of light it makes the picture clearer. It's fast enough.

The sound quality is very good. It sounds better than my 5700 and is on par with 5610 and 5310. I think it won't dissapoint you

Lihan, 11 Jan 2009Oh luks lyk i cudn catch luis.so can any1els reply2ma ques.... moreWhat I was trying to say is that 5220 can play videos with a resolution up to 320*240 pixels. 352*288 videos can't be played on this phone.

For any people with doubts about memory cards capacity, I have inserted a 4gb micro sdhc card manufactured by San Disk and 5220 worked fine. My firmware is 4.86.

The Nokia 5220 Organizer/Maps-application comes without installed maps. You can change this by downloading "Nokia Map Loader" - install it, then opening this app through "Nokia PC Suite" by clicking the map-icon. Your phone should obviously be connected to PC through your mini-USB cable.

From "Nokia Map Loader", you can select (or unselect) countries to download. These country-maps seems to be locked on your particular phone only, so pick the right ones from the start - and be sure to install it on a fast/big enough memory-card of your choice. Scandinavia for example takes 248 MB of memory.

Theres no GPS-function without a Bluetooth-connected GPS-hardware - and no phonemast-triangulation either. But the map itself works anyway. You can still search and save favourite locations, find points of interests, and also calculate routes from point A to B - all whithout being Bluetooth-connected to a GPS.

i purchased this phone a week bck. Overall performance of this fone is good. The main negatives that i noticed was:
turn the music player -equaliser to pop etc other than normal.Play a song over speakers. Its not refined, the voice and clarity breaks.Check out.
Camera is ok as far as pics but horrible for video capturing
the fone hangs if the phone memory is almost full.
            baterry sucks

A majority market share capturer like Nokia should always be a step ahead than their rivals, but nokia is always losing the race in the recent when comparing with others.even the entry level basic modela of other manufactures are good than the nokia fones.

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2009i want to ask that nokia 5220 xpresss music has 8gb memory ... more
              After reading HERE

              http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/5220_XpressMusic

(go to Memory Functions and see for yourself)

about the 8GB card, I went and got one.

              It WORKS!

Before that, I was using a 4GB card without any problem.

That 2GB card thing you read was probably with the first firmware.

GSMArena says this phone supports up to 8GB memory card, whereas the nokia website says it supports up to 2GB ( http://www.nokia.co.in/find-products/products/nokia-5220-xpressmusic/specifications ). I have read posts where people have said they are comfortably using 4GB cards. Still i wonder about the ambiguity! Can anyone clarify?

                  Thanks in advance.

user, 09 Jan 2009have put 8GB in no problems or slow down whatsoever8 GIG no probs (if it takes this it will most likely take the 16GB ones out now and the 32GB ones soon to be launched)
                            nice and small
excellent DA converters for music and propper 3/4in headphone socket.
recommend ditching the bundelled heaphones as they are truely awfull.
with a good set of headphones this is better than any ipod or similar

I have a week with this phone so I can't comment about its durability but it's casing feels tough enough, no cracking or annoying sounds. It has fallen once and looks like new yet.

I'm saying that with proof cause I have 3500c and had a 6300. 5220 has an auto night mode. It hasn't the option on the camera menu, it turns on automatically when there is lack of light. The day shots are nice according to its price (it cost me 1800 mexican pesos which is equivalent to aproximately 110 euro)
