SwitchingToN8, 15 Apr 2011I would've recommended this phone a year ago but now,I woul... morebought a new nokia5230 n it has excelent internet facility lso powerful conectivity...d only thing dat draws back dis phone is dat it does not come wit an led flash.. :( bt it s an excelent smartphone..;)

I would've recommended this phone a year ago but now,I would not recommend it. I purchase this phone at an iWind store in Italy. I use to love this device. I've had this phone for 1 year 3 months and its starting to give me some problems. First of all i think its slowing down and i haven't done anything to it. I've used the internet once.I mostly play music with the device and text and obviously make and receive calls. I cannot do anything else because it does not have
wi-fi and 3G is not available in the Caribbean. In the beginning i was ok with that fact but now I want a device with more features.The screen freezes up sometimes and i have to restart the phone. At 1 point i had to re-install the firmware.It overheats for no apparent reason. Its not like i have heavy app's running in the background. Also sometimes i find that the OS slows down.I think Nokia needs to release another firmware update for their symbian^1 touchscreen devices. They need an update badly. I am switching to the n8 in a few months. Symbian^3 looks so much better and seems to be more responsive and the devices have a faster processor though i don't think the processor is a problem with the 5230. I continue will using it as a secondary phone for calls and texts. I think i'll just have to re-install the firmware again. It seems to work.

it's a nice phone, just bought it a week ago, as a student its pretty to buy one nokia5230, i can do my projects directly from this phone using the quick office, and copy and paate text from opera....

the heating and quick battery usage is because the 3g modem gets turned on (packet data activity).
It can be solved easily by turning off all data (3G) activity, until necessary.

Adorable piece of quartz and plastic. I like it more than Nokia N8. I haven't seen that fast symbian before. There is absolutely nothing negative to say Small, Smart, Cheap, Enjoyable, Nokia music player =

just got the phone yesterday, its expensive to download and be on the net. that sucks. i dont know about how i feel yet. looks like a nice phone.
