i will buy this mobile 2moro,and i want... morei used nokia 5230 for 5 months and there was a restarting problem earlier and now with latest firmware it is solved.if you are a messaging fan x3 is good but otherwise nokia 5230 is a great smartphone.

X6 is better of course, in terms of specs....the diffeence is better camera and flash, wi fi, big internal memory....but if you want more value for less money go for 5230

not everyone has extra money to spend. the 5230 gave us a phone with features that of an expensive phone for half to a quarter of the price. if you cant see the amount saved to the value gained then good luck to you

i want to buy the phone and i had to check here to see if there is no probs with it.
bt sompeople should mind the way they coment
this is opinion writing not insultin site
i now av the phone and it is doing very fine and for that low price

Nokia 5230 is the best phone i had.Its a low cost smartphone with a lot of features.
The strong points of nokia 5230 are
1.Great screen
2.good battery
3.free navigation via ovi maps
4.30fps video recording and playback
5.New swype input which revolutionised touchscreen inputs.
6.And last but not least for under $200 its a great phone.

The reason that an icon showing no audio may be due to the settings.While taking video select options->settings and check whether audio recording is of or not.

version 21 firmware has bugs,its now uneasy to open the application folder, and the browser sucks, the camera got worst...version 12 is better!

I bought my 5230 about two weeks ago. I was only looking for an unexpensive phone with no other expectations and I bought it without really knowing the specs. That's why I was really amazed when I got a phone with a lot of possibilities, free navigation, other amazing software like e.g. Sports-Tracker, 3 back-covers and a car cradle for about 100 euros. With the newest firmware (21.0.004) I've had no problems whatsoever. I have both Smartmail and Ovi mail installed and they work fine. I didn't think that would be possible, but I still tried it...

I've had the phone for a few months now. Overall it's okay. Everything is quite satisfactory except that it is a bit slow when selecting apps and jumping out of screen, and the phone a bit too chunky. Also the phone restarts itself for no reason... I think these are the only bad points.

2sims user, 30 Aug 2010i am 2 sim cards user.. It seems 5230 has sim card slot at ... moreyou have to switch off the phone for changing sim
