You need navifir... moreWow.. thanks mate for the great deal of info regarding this. I myself am using a modded variant of the v21 on my 5233 with all the similar goodies. It's got the CPU mod with 8HS. Was wondering if there is a way to incorporate python runtime and the latst java runtime in the fw itself. Currently i'm very much satisfied with the phone's performance and speed but it kind of lacks that SidewindeR signature that's why I thought of givin it a try.
And with my new cfw I was able to do multitasking with 27 apps both builtin and 3rd party with just 3MB RAM to spare. With the official fw was never able to do so.

You need navifirm and jaf to download the necessary original firmware files based on the variant of the model (i.e. 5230) you intend to cook firmware for, and and flash with the cooked files afterwards
I use Nokia Editor beta7. this is needed to extract the individual files from rofs2 and rofs3 fw files. rofs3 contain the theme files and some more and rofs2 contain the rest. max size of rofs2 is about 32MB and rofs3 13mb.
the reason I mentioned the sizes is you can't go over the limit it will brick your phone but a reflash with the correct files or orig fw files will bring your phone back to life again. :)
anyway, you can include many applications in the files. I put them in rofs3 most of the time. I have bestscreenshot, rompatcher. killme, x-plore, etc.
Mods can be downloaded from some websites (I can email you) and ready for incorporating in your fw but caution should be observed since not all mods are friendly.
There is one particular mod that overclocks the CPU and is originally intended for 5800, but I don't use on 5230. Reason is 5230 is a lot faster than 5800, (walkman would argue this of course, But good thing nobody listens to nincompoops like him) especially with the release of v.21 fw.
The video folder mod is also erratic at times, so i don't use it.
most of the other mods like removing the reserved 5MB space for FOTA, 999 messages by default, theme effects, Cache mods, etc are all fine with 5230.
I use 9 homescreens also including the omnia satio. too bad there's no way for the C6 fw to be ported to 5230 yet. Only for 5800 and 5530 for now, but I'm sure there will be ports for 5230 and 5233 later.

I'm still here, just busy making cfw for other owners of 5230s in the Philippines. they want customized firmwares with their names on the system info (when you press #*0000*). something a nincompoop like you wouldn't understand. anyway, it's nice to see that people don't mind your posts now. even Sidewinder took the high road on your posts. In nokia 5230 is 3g there , bcoz in some phones i can see when dialling the number , video calling option is there , but when dialling in nokia 5230 no option is there . it doesn't have a secondary camera i know that , but how video calling is possible .. how ? pls tell

Sount and vedio is batter major problem is that it havn't inbuilt pdf reader and also wifi . But it is best mobil in this prise.
