Here in the philippine if the phone has factory defect nokia will replace it outright within 3 days of purchase. After that the phone is covered for 1 year parts and service. I would bet the warranty policy is the same in your country. But still better to bring it to nokia care. The problem might be solved via flashing the firmware by nokia itself.

So far for me, my experiences with Nokia customer services have been pleasant and hassle free. So if there is something wrong witn the main board, they will either change the board free of cost or replace you with a new handset.

Phone memory is half filled with just 4 songs, new ovi maps version, contacts and few messages. But it still restarts. I would not mind if it just restarts but change in date and time is pathetic. I will take it to care centre. Thanks for help.

Unexpected restarts are something that needs to be looked at. It is not normal for the date and time to change randomly. I syspect the CMOS chip that counts the date might be the culprit. I suggest you take it to the priority center to have it looked at. By the looks of things, this does seem like a serious issue.

To those looking for quality microsds, Kingston class4 is a good brand. I've been using Kingston for a long time and it has yet to fail me. I am also using two kingston 8gb class 4 microsds via photofast adaptor in my god of war psp and it has no lag playing games on the memstick. I will bet walkman's jurassic n82 that you won't notice the diff in class 6 sds with these.

For this low a price, can you suggest ... moreHello mate, I am finding your posts really helpful and mainly after reading your posts about 5233, I did purchase it. Phone is awesome but I am finding strange problem in it from a very first day of purchase. My phone restarts randomly about 3-4 times in a day and everytime it restarts automatically, time gets changed to some random value. Sometimes date also gets shift to 4-5 days next to original and once even the year got shift. I thought to treat it on preliminary basic after consulting with some forum experts. I tried hard resetting but it didn't help. Then I reinstalled firmware to my phone using Software Updater programme by Nokia. But unfortunately, problem is still there. What could be the issue? My phone is just 2 weeks old and Nokia care centre is too far from my locality. Is there any solution that I can solve these issue of auto restart and automatic time and date changes before taking it to Care Center? If there is no solution and I have to take it to Nokia care, and even these people end up having no rectification of issue then what should I do? Do I have right to ask for replacement device at free of cost?
Please shade some light no it. I would be thankful to you. I am really frustrated by this issue.

well i was also a 5230 user b4 and i compared the sound quality between 5800xm. there is really a big difference between the volume and sound clarity. incase u dont know i used lots of symbian handsets from 6600, 6630-80, n70me, n80, n73, n95, n82 and 5230 m just sharing my expirience i quess the truth hurts. har har

Anyway there is only onle seller that i know of on ebay.in that sells genuine transcend class 6 cards. The seller id is something like 'transcend_tech'. I've already booked two more cards for my friends. Just waiting for it to arrive.

pinoy my good ol n82 beats my 5230 in camera and sound quality...thats why i choose to keep it and disposes the crappy 5230...il be goin for the better 5800xm later

Please don't pay much attention to that "walkman" guy. These guys are like 'bacteria', they always make our environment unhealthy. He is intentionally bashing 5233/5230 bcoz I think he is jealous of 5233/5230. Just ignore his crap posts.
By the way, can u plz tell me the name of Ebay India vendor frm whom u bought ur Transcend 8gb class 6 micro sdhc card.

If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Nobody here spams you 5800 forum. So learn to give respect if you yourself want to be respected. I used to be an LG user. My last phone was the mighty gm200. If i was looking for sound quality through the speakers then i woul still be using my gm200. And try comparing your weak stereo 5800 with gm200. It'll give you a run for your money. Your so called stereo is no match for the gm200's dolby mobile and 2.1ch surround sound with woofer. And it only cost less than a third the price of your 5800. S stop telling me about audio quality and all because there are better phones out there than 5800.
