I bought this phone yesterday. Now it is really painful to get 5230 in India, it is really out of market. Nokia is pushing for 5233 and this is all nokia's marketing strategy becoz of 5230 selling of nokia's other model 5800 is geeting affected badly. Yesterday I got this 5230 at Rs.8300 after vising 11 stotes in the city Kolkata.

    hey um using nokia 5233 white. here's sumthing weird with the battery.
    last night i talked on the phone for 3 hours and the battery showed full charge. then i restarted the phone and found only 1 bar left. and then i listened to music for an hour and battery was empty.

    then i charged it for just 15 mins only and battery showed 5 bars. then i listened to music for 2 hours and the battery increased to 6 bars. and i have not charged it since now (its 4 pm in India here) and the battery still shows 6 bars!!!!
    quite ghostly!! yahoo love u nokia!!!

      Can any one suggesetd me a good earphone
      which gives me deep base effect in my tracks..

          Krisztián, 12 Mar 2010And what do you think, it worths to change my E51 to 5230?Yeah! i mean if u wanna new phone,and wanna touch screen phone why not!? 5230 is best touch screen phone i ever had (cookie and samsung star before) so i say u can by 5230!

Or else go ... moreSR i found another solution for everyone who cant play youtube videos using built in browser (like me) its youtube app! it works just great and new version is released today! anyone can download it just go to m.youtube.com/app and download will start automaticly! by the way...any news about your 5230?! any luck in finding your phone?

              Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Bar! :) well that is my opinion and decision is yours! friend has 5530 2 mounths now and is really not happy with it! sometimes when she turn it on it shows some lines and phone is restarting or when she change theme plus its all scrached!

                  Krisztián, 11 Mar 2010Im from Serbia. 3q of this year, this date is so far....and... moreif u can live without wifi and can afford unlimited gprs u can buy 5230! i am using unlimited gprs and its like i am having wifi,i even downloaded some movies with my 5230! its just amazing phone! 5800 is kinda old now,and 5530 has little screen and cheap glossy plastic! i really recommend 5230 i am sure u will be happy with it! but u will get just charger headphones and plectum! no stylus or extra battery covers in our and countries around us!

I have two more questions: Charging off usb can not be solved? And for example, if I buy 5530, can i buy better battery for it (For example battery from 5800, is that battery compatible with 5530)?

                      Krisztián, 11 Mar 2010Im from Serbia. 3q of this year, this date is so far....and... moreIm from Montenegro heh, i am sure there will be some device under 300e but well...u know situation about phones and priceing in our countries!! and u are not sure they will have wifi too maybe it will lacks wifi! i am not sure about 5530 battery but i heard that it has some problems with freezzing and restarting and with 5230 i nver haved any problem! and about 5800 u can find it for 200e now but on black market,or u can pay more than 300e for original with 2 yrs warranty! i paid 220e for 5230!

I almost forget Vodafone... moreWhere are u from? dont expect any new touch screen phone from nokia any time soon till q3 this year becouse nokia is working on symbian*3 and symbian*4! they will announce some phones with s3 soon i am sure but it will not be released till q3 2010! if u have enought money but cant wait for new touch screen phones from nokia buy x6 16gb it is released few days ago!

I almost forget Vodafone 845, not a bad phone for 150e, but i want to have fm radio on my phone....In my country, vip provider has good offers: HTC Tattoo (2 year contract, monthly 10e, for 70e cash), and Nokia 5230 (2 year contract, monthly 10e, for 60e cash).... this is for me a pretty good offer... I think Nokia as brand is the better choice, because i have use it for years, and Im very content with Symbian Nokia phones (I have used 3650,7610,6630,n70,9500,e50,e71)...but 5230 hasnt wifi, this is for me important (there is also Nokia 5530, but it hasnt gps). I think i would wait a few months for Nokia touch screen phone with wifi and gps too, which will be good in price....

                                What do you think, there will be released in the near future a new Nokia touch screen phone, with Symbian, are there any news about phones like this?

                                  had this phone for a week and the battery is really good and so is the gps and touch screen! Love it!

                                    Here's a quick comparison between the two.

                                    Positives of Tattoo (Negatives of Nuron)
                                    Tattoo has a D-Pad and has more hardware buttons (some people still prefer these)
                                    Android OS is better than Symbian S60 in usability and Tattoo is topped with HTC's Sense UI. It also has a better third party software support and app store support.
                                    Has WiFi. 3.15 MP camera against Nuron's 2 MP.
                                    Has better RAM and Processing power than Nuron (atleast on paper)

                                    Positives of Nuron (Negatives of Tattoo)
                                    Screen Size, form, resolution. Nuron's is better than Tattoo's in all aspects. Far better for watching wide screen videos.
                                    Nuron comes with a free Voice guided navigation license through Ovi Maps for life.
                                    The music quality of Tattoo is not on par with Nuron (judging by HTC magic with which Tattoo is closely related)
                                    The internal memory is at 512 MB (ROM) but user accessible memory will be lesser. Android does not allow you to install apps on external memory card. So with internal memory so low you'll have a limited no. of apps on your phone.
                                    Battery life is better in Nuron but that depends on individual usage.

                                    At the End of it all its you who have to choose one as per your requirements.
