This is my first smart phone after 2 S40 phones (5200 and 6233) and i can say that this is at par in performance(if not better) with any other S40 phones or smartphones. UI is fluid, smooth and kinetic scrolling does makes a big difference. I was proud of all my previous phones, and i am glad to say that Nokia 5230 is in the same league as well !

it isn't available now in bangalore atleast . checked with many stores. all of them are pushing 5233 . this is bad ....

I want to know that wats about its sound & camera quality.......is its 2MP camera is better then 5130XM.........and its sound clearity & quality.compare to XP phones........please tell me.........anybody.....

Hi to all 5230/5233 users as well as readers. I just want to share my view on these models.
Both the models are better performers. But the thing is, NOKIA pulling back/holding the 5230.I have read most of the posts in this section for the past 3 weeks and concluded to buy 5230, bcoz of GPS & 3G were my preferences. But I found hardly few 5230's available and are of gr8 demand. Finally got it for 8000INR+4GB (450/-) and a Sony E11LP earphones (490/-) for better music.
I guess NOKIA had made a cool move in keeping 5230 on HOLD (i guess).Because at a price tag of 8000INR, with GPS & 3G 5230 is a DEAL. Which may effect the sales of 5800Ex Music & 5530Ex Music. If iam not wrong, max Indian market is targeted on the hand sets within a 10K price tag. So 5230 is a clean swipe in that price range. So in order to avoid this sales deflection, 5233 is been introduced as a substitute for 5230 without 3G and GPS. So people who want either 3G/GPS will switch to other higher end models.
In my view 5230 would be a good competitor with other brands Touch Screen handsets with in same price tag and could be a competer in NOKIA itself.
So people Hurry up and get 5230 ASAP. Or hope NOKIA Re-release 5230 later (iam not sure Nokia would do this).A carry pouch and extra stylus would be a added benefit if it comes along with the sale pack.
Stock ear phones are ideal for making calls and to listen radio, up to some extent. But for music lovers, better opt for other head/earphones like Philips/Sony/Creative……etc.

though i won't be buying it till april ... still i'd like to know .... and did d price change or not?

I was also using a S40 Phone (6233) before 5230. And u wont be needing any 3rd party software for that purpose, there is an option in the phone itself to select the memory to be used.
And yes, Nokia 5130's cable is compatible with Nokia 5230 (in fact i am using the same from my sis phone :P ) .

I m planning 2 buy this phone next month n i haven't use s60 phones yet, so i have some doubts- the phone memory is 70mb, in s40s when u use bluetooth n transfer larger file than phone memory that goes directly to memory card, is that possible in this one without any 3rd party software? 1 more thing about data cable, does 5130's data cable support this one? Plz reply.

The sales package does contain 1 Stylus (only in india it seems), but no different colored back panels, no memory card, no data cable.
