like what they cloned the e71 to have the little brother e63. They use the same strategy, downgrading the succesful 5800xm to this phone. This marketing strategy really gets old. Just add less than 100 bucks, you'll get 5800. Unless 100 bucks is a big deal to you.

I am a 5230 user from 2 weeks, I enjoy using 5230. I have installed more than 50 apps and games and I used GPS without GPRS/3G(Internet) with voice assist turn by turn awesome 10/10. And battery for my excess usage 1.5 days 8/10. Music via headphones ultimate equal to my i-pod. I use sony and sheniser headphones. Gaming good and it supports motion gaming.
Please down load photo browser from Nokia labs it's worth with 3D effects better than I phone gallery... So who complains Gallery is slow download this and more from beta labs. You can locate easily in favorites in the below link...... and many more apps

This phone has 3G and GPS.
BUT Nokia 5530 has 3.2 Autofocus camera with flash, Wireless, better music capabilities and it's smaller.
Nokia 5530 is better in my opinion...

SR, 09 Feb 2010Yeah its quite amusing that Nokia ain't selling 5233 anywhe... moreI agree with you again! nokia never did anything similar so they wanna try what samsung is doing for long time! they know very good what features ppl are using in wich country,so they cut things that most ppl dont use! plus they dont give anything extra not even one battery cover to make it even cheaper! its same with stylus too i guess! they know very well where ppl are using stylus and where not! so there is phone with stylus in india and some countries and without stylus (mine) !

Nokia is increasingly following into the footsteps of Samsung. Samsung had done something similar actually by introducing a lowcost Corby (which already is a lowcost phone). Corby Pop as it is called has a resistive screen against Corby's capacitive.
Corby Pop (like Nokia 5233) was also launched in India only but is now available in other countries too as Corby Genoa ( http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_c3510_corby_pop_known_as__samsung_genoa_in_europe-news-1353.php )
It seems Nokia wants to experiment with this idea too.

It is... moreI agree with you! and i hope that is true! and it really is sad that ppl tell lies to buyers just to sell what they have in store at the moment! as i told before if nokia replace 5230 with 5233 in india...that is very bad move! and i dont understand it! they dont sell 5233 anywere else in the world just in india! wich is kinda stupid if they stop selling 5230!

It is more or less possible that the latest production batches are being directed towards other countries/markets like USA where 5230 is rebranded by T-Mobile as Nokia Nuron ( http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hd2_nokia_5230_and_motorola_zeppelin_going_to_tmobile_usa-news-1432.php ). But as I pointed out Nokia is still marketing 5230.
Its sad that even the official Nokia stores are trying to sell 5233 by resorting to lies and are misinforming people who want to buy 5230.
