Hello,
I am a 5230 user from 2 weeks, I enjoy using 5230. I have installed more than 50 apps and games and I used GPS without GPRS/3G(Internet) with voice assist turn by turn awesome 10/10. And battery for my excess usage 1.5 days 8/10. Music via headphones ultimate equal to my i-pod. I use sony and sheniser headphones. Gaming good and it supports motion gaming.
Please down load photo browser from Nokia labs it's worth with 3D effects better than I phone gallery... So who complains Gallery is slow download this and more from beta labs. You can locate easily in favorites in the below link......

If "maps application it searches for the gps data" than probably you've a GPS ver. of Ovi maps. Try to disable GPS from map options. If you're not able to do that than try to download an earlier ver. of Ovi(Nokia) Maps like ver. 3.0 or 2.0. Or else get help from Nokia from here : http://www.nokia.co.in/get-support-and-software/contact-us/nokia-careline
To load maps on your phone here's what Nokia has to say :
Download maps with Nokia Map Loader
1 Connect your device to your compatible computer with a compatible USB data cable or Bluetooth connection. If you use a data cable, select PC Suite as the USB connection method.
2 Open Nokia Map Loader on the computer.
3 If a new map version or new voice files are available for your device, you are prompted to update the data.
4 Select a continent and a country. Larger countries may have several sub-maps so you can download the maps
relevant for you.
5 Select the maps, and download and install them to your device.
To ensure your device does not use the internet connection, in the main menu select > Internet > Connection > Offline.

And also when downloading sis files? Why my 5230 say "downloading 'content.sis' not supported"?
In response to "whats in the box" i got usbcable, stylus in the cover, pink plectrum, charger, white earph0ne. And i waz asking for the 2 backcover but the salesman said, nokia pr0vided 2coverz only in the 1st 2m0nths of 5230's release.
One more thing, could any0ne tell me why this ph0ne d0esnt have a RAM? And what is the difference between this ph0ne with the Nseries ph0nes? Thankz in advance.

This is a very good phone. Actually best among product for money rating, according 2 me. The 3g & gps is the main advantage over the other of same price range. The big screen is also looks hot.I bought it on 22 jan, price is 8100.
The package doesnot contained datacable and memory card. 300 for datacable(,at nokia priority deler without bill) and 500 for 4gb sdhc card i paid.

jeniverre, 07 Feb 2010oh i forgot to tell the down part of my experience. i hate ... moreWhen you got the data's from Bluetooth first open and save it then go to file manager and open memory card there was one folder "Attachments" created by your mobile automatically, all received data's from Bluetooth will stored in this folder only.

Over all the handset is good. For the price range it offers good features. I bought it for 8500/-.In the review I read there is no stylus but there is one in mine. But the box has nothing to offer only the charger headset and a plectrum no memory card no data cable and no extra back panels. The headset is average. But with the 3.5MM audio jack we can use other headphones. The audio quality is superb. The Display is great, but sunlight legibility is very poor. Touch screen is excellent with good feedback. But the scrolling is bit confusing. In main menu there is no kinetic scrolling and in submenus it is available. It will confuse you a bit but will get used to it soon. All the keys are handy no problems what so ever. The battery life is also very good will last for 3 days with medium usage. QWERTY virtual keypad is very handy and has good accuracy. The gallery is a bit slow to load the contents. The camera is ok noting above that. The speaker volume is not that bad as said in the review we don’t miss much calls even in a noisy environment. The proximity sensor serves a good job by turning off the screen when we keep the phone close to our ear. In my place there is no much use of GPS but I am able to get the position and routs. Web bourse can improve. I can’t tell anything about 3G capabilities as it is not available here. No problems with keys or no issues with the OS. The scrollable contact bar is a nice feature. With this price tag it is a strong competitor for Samsung Star LG Cookie and Samsung Corby. I am a totally satisfied and will give 4 out of 5 for this phone.

This is basically an external GPS chip (only for phones which donot have an in-built GPS chip). It connects with you phone through GPS and will be able to lock on your exact location.

The browser is slow, very s... morehey ludwik if u dnt agree with me in builtin browser, its ok. but its really fast c0mpare to my 5610. well its just my experience anyway, or its maybe because of my ISP. but i have operamini5 n0w and its m0re faster. and also kinetic scr0lling scrolls the ic0ns slow but it still enjoys me watching it. it is kinetic because with one swipe it scr0lls by itself for a sec0nds and stop.
by d way here in philippines, i g0t usb cable but no extracover.
