      i downloded some games and app but they got installed in phone memory. how can i transfer it to memory card. pls rply asap

        SR, 01 Feb 2010Try ebay...I already did and nothing! there is no yellow cover! on nokia site there is yellow cover pics but looks like it will be avilable later! nokia should make few more covers with graffiti and tattoo style so anyone could buy them! just like samsug did with corby and htc with tattoo! it sucks but in my country there are no extra battery covers and there is no stylus in the cover just plectum in the box!

                In my opinion white phone looks so so much better than black 5230! i have white with blue cover and it is great! black looks just like 5800! i just wish i could find and buy yellow (green) back cover! it is the best!

                    - better camera with dual LED flash,
                    - dual stereo speakers,
                    - Seinheiser headphones (that you must have got in that much money),
                    - secondary video call camera,
                    - free voice navigation,
                    - included USB cable
                    - and I think you must have got an 8 GB memory card in the retail package.
                    I think that's a good deal.

But I'm wondering : Why no GPS for your GF??? You could have got a software where you could track each others location via GPRS/3G..... on second thoughts I guess you probably did the right thing ;)

                      Also you're in the same place where I wanted to be : Nokia 5230 + iPod Touch (for its larger screen) - I came up with this combination in place of an N97 mini / Xperia X1.
                      But now I'm no longer planning to buy iPod Touch and am waiting for iPad. Even though both iPod Touch and iPad have an inherent flaw : NO FLASH IN THE BROWSER (...arghhh) and no multi tasking which is as needed in a smart device as lungs in a human being. Also I was a bit worried about carrying the two in pocket at the same time. But I guess I have to carry a iPad compliant case / hand bag / back pack.

                      The choice for a mobile phone was difficult. I wanted a device under 9K. Nokia by launching 5230 with GPS + the never before seen or imagined freeware, the market shattering value addition to a GPS phone - Free Voice Navigation (and I can't tell you how much goodwill I am spreading for Nokia) meant that you can't look at any other phone.
                      Nokia killed competition in eyes of the people. These are the kind of decision that gets you a hard core fan following, makes you a cult.

                      Regarding resistive screens I think it makes more sense to put this technology on mobile phones because they are more precise and accurate than Capacitive which responds to even the slightest touch. In a rough and tough phone resistive screen makes more sense. That's my opinion.

                      Lastly, I don't agree with you that people with budget more than 10K shouldn't buy it 'cause its an excellent value for money phone, and if Wi-Fi is not a priority than its better than 5800. It leaves you with 'more' money in your pocket. Leaves you with 'more' to spend on GF(s) ;D Makes 'more' sense, don't you think...

                            Let me write something from the buyers perspective . I have got both the phones, purchased recently. nokia 5230 for me and 5233 for my girlfriend. First the details

                            lets do this thing in questions and answers

                            1. why i bought this phone?

                            i believe everyone has some expectation from a cellphone and certain features that they want. i wanted GPS(mainly), touchscreen, smartphone, OS where i can install new softwares.Good music quality.

                            2. what about wifi?

                            i already have an ipod touch 3G and nokia e61i(both has wifi) so wifi was not a priority for me

                            3. why not nokia 5800 expressmusic?

                            i never had the budget, and moreover, wifi was not required for me, also i had 8gb memory card with me already, also the OS in 5230/5233 is more advanced than 5800

                            4. what was your first reaction?

                            being an ipod touch user i did not like the looks initially, but as i started using it it felt more hand friendly and the looks grew on me.

                            5. how was the overall interface and speed?

                            resistive touchscreens needs some more pressure to work with, so i took an hour to come to terms with my 5230 but after that it was a breeze. i am already conversant with nokia symbian interface so it was not a big deal. Overall response was snazzy and there was very little lag. I changed the theme and now it looks nicer. Remember one thing, capacitive screens, though better, but you cant use it without your finger touch. I went to UK and i had to wear gloves, i thanked God that i did not had a phone with capacitive screen, or else i would have to open my gloves to use the phone in -5 degree C

                            6. how was the sound quality?

                            i never used the provided headphones as they were obviously crap and they were not meant to listen to music with. I used my own soundmagic pl-50 and the sound quality was awesome(just as reviewed). Loudspeaker sound was not too loud but its not a big deal for me as i mostly keep my phone silent with vibrations.

                            7. How was the inbuilt GPS?

                            i was using plain vanilla nokia maps software and the gps connection was quite good. But to my surprise nokia made its navigation software free !!! and this model is included in their supported phones !!! so its a godsend.

                            8. why bought the black color?

                            the shopkeeper was using the white one, and though it looked nice, but i could easily make out dust and grimes on it. i believe black color will hide them beter.

                            9. how is the cam quality?

                            average...pretty average. But 640x480 videos looked nice and beter than all the phones in its class.

                            10. Battery? is it good?

                            the 1320mAh battery is quite good and with heavy usage u can use it for 2 days(includes navigation, music, vdo rec and conversation)

                            10. Anything you expected but didnt get?

                            i expected a scratch guard, and a data cable, both of which was not provided. but both can be purchased at a dollar each.

                            11. who should buy this phone?

                            a. whose budget is below 10k INR
                            b. who wants GPS and 3g cheap
                            c. who wants complete free navigation software
                            d. who wants good quality music quality
                            e. who wants a large screen phone(no other phone has this large screen in this price range yet)

                            12. who should not buy this phone?

                            a. whose budget is more than 10k
                            b. who wants wifi
                            c. who has no use for 3G
                            d. who doesn't like touch screens
                            e. whose camera quality is a priority
                            f. who wants a very sleek handset

                            13. what is your fav feature in this phone?

                            full free nokia navigation, large screen and excellent music quality

                            14. what about 5233?

                            its the same handset, except the 3G module, which is removed. Otherwise its completely same from every aspects and 1.5k INR less

                                    hey guys... i just bought this Phone 3 weeks later.
                                    for now it run smoothly and the battery is good.. i use it without charges for 3 days!

                                    About the battery cover,
                                    the one which already installed to the phone it have a stylus,but the 2 free cover doesn't have a stylus..
                                    so guys,is this normal..?

                                        hi, 31 Jan 2010does it has agps which is free of cost to use ya!it haves.faster if u wan buy,cheapest,gps and 3g and touchscreen makes u buy.so much colours forf the battery cover lol.
