yes i did test the new free gps by nokia.
i loaded the software and maps (110 mb) via pc.
it takes alot of time to acquire gps lock.
but once it does, the navigation is spotless, very good voice navigation, perfect maps , other info like nearby restaurants, petrol bunks, traffic info were very good.

Seems like everyone is really happy to own this phone (Like Surya Singh, he seems to be deadly excited with this cell).
Well hope every1 is also excited regarding the Nokia Maps (Now free). Well I actually tested it, using my TATA DOCOMO connection. And I would say that the navigation was pretty good though not smooth, (May be due to Docomo's mediocre connectivity). I tested "drive and walk" navigations.
If any1 one of you have tested it and have any feedback please post it here. (Sorry if I have missd any in the previous pages)
And also any queries, jus shoot.

As far as reading and editing document files are concerned you can get a software for them running on Symbian.
This phone has the same OS (Symbian v9.4), same UI (Series 60 rel. 5) and same screen resolution (nHD, 360x640) as N97, N97 mini, X6, 5800 XpressMusic which all support office document handling softwares.
You just not get it in-built in 5230, but you can either buy them from Nokia Ovi Store or search for a similar software on the web that's free.
Hope this clears your doubt.
This is an excellent device if you take affordability into picture and scores high points, higher than many top of the line handset that are high priced.
It has more bang for the buck, an extremely favorable cost-to-benefit ratio.

some one is saying that this phone can read document files like word power point pdf excel....& somewhere it states that no document viewer.except for this document viewing part i am pretty interested to buy this phone.can anyone please tell me if thr is any provision for document viewing???coz i have to deal with so many email attachments on pdf & excel ppt etc...

I have few SMS/ EMail in sim card. The default SMS/ Email storage setting is Memory card. I wish to transfer the SMS to Memory card. Please assist.

dear friends yesterday i brought 5233 at 7400 at mobile store + 2GB card at 340 at this price it is best phone present in market.now i am giving review of one day use
1- looks; same copy to 5800 same bulky but have many keys for ease in usability. display is awesome.
2- user interface; very nice much better than corby&star.which i have use before. also remember nokia never stops they keep on updating its software.also many software available
3- touch; sensitivity is best in corby than star than 5233 than 5800. But still it is not so bad you get use to it in 7 days.
4- battery; i have not check much but at low brightness it should give very high backup.
5- camera;dont expect much with 2mp but its fairly good, and video is awesome like digicam. if you want a good camera go for star for still image.
6- music; please if you are music lover go blindly for it 5233 music is even better than ipod touch i swear. speaker sound is like 5800 not 5230. in box headset looks cheap but sound is very good not so loud
but no need to go for separate head set.
conclusion; 5233 is looks especially for india no 3G but free gps.friends its my request not waste money in Wifi, 3G, Video call camera,and more pixels. it is best phone available up to now in the cheapest price. if you are educated & need smart phone &high end music device go for it.better than 5230 i am reading 3G in news paper from last 2 yrs still it rarely present at high price. it is hard to find free wifi in india.

I think 5230 n 5233 wil surpass the record set by 5130 in terms of sales.
