hi friends, i wud like to ask people from India who have nokia 5233 that is this phone has GPS feature (not just nokia maps) and is this phone sounds is weaker than nokia 5230?(I mean speakers) Except 3g what is left in Nokia 5233 pls help me out for my confusions so that I will buy it without any delay if I will get what I need.

Now the NEXT Step Downloading Nokia PC Suite, Ovi Maps, New Firmware if available & all SORTS of what NOT Softwares for my SweetHeart. My SweetHeart Needs Shopping -- New Clothes, Makeup, Lipstick, Nail Polish, SHOES & what NOT :) hehe ..... Shes gonna keep me busy for atleast a WEEK.

I too forgot the good point 5230 indian version is not from China, it's from Korea (standard in electronics) and battery is from china........

wow.......

Please suggest good apps and I still have a doubt is 5230 capable of turn by turn free voice navigation?

My Dear Nokia Friends, I purchased NOKIA 5230 as my B-day gift today... :) After all rumors running around and research about Android(Samsung Galaxy i7500 cost 15400.00 INR(+5MP cam, Amoled 3.2 touch 1.5 cupcake android ver, 8GB inbuilt, 16 GB expandable -no bluetooth file transfer) I stand at 5230 and bought from authorized Nokia Priority dealer for INR 8400.00. Am happy with this now. I tried for white color but I got only black one.

I have used 4 new 5800's and found many problems the most odd prob is display is dancing and phone restarting. I found this phone's display is good but not better than 5800. Sound and loudness 5800 rocks in inbuilt speakers. 5230 rocks with head phones. Touch is improved in 5230. Home screen is having plenty of good options and I am in love with this phone now.

I have to purchase 8GB class 6 memory costs aroung INR 1000.00
USB cable INR 200.00 (I have two mini USB cables, but those are not fitting for this phone may be it's have micro USB.
Good headset INR 600-1200
Screen Guard INR 200-350
Carry Pouch INR 250.00

Total approx INR 1700.00 extra for accessories (8400+2400=10800)
8400+1450(5800 BOX Accessories) INR 9850.00 5230 final cost.

Previously for 5800 I got it for INR 13400.00
Headset worth 2599.00 but it's avail for INR600.00 through online ebay. and 8GB class 4 700.00 and cable 150.00 total 1450.00 INR = 11950 5800 final cost.

Verdict : if you shed 2100.00 more you will get a problemed buggy phone with Wifi+stero speakers+1 mega more auto focus dual flash)
Although I personally faced problems with 5800 I didn't like.

Will update you more on 5230 futures soon :)

COST ME: 8990/- (I know its expensive but .... u know)
Package Content: Mob, Charg, Battery, Stylus + Plectrum Stylus, Headset, Guide. (No it did not contain a software CD & extra battery covers & NO USB Cable.) People will miss the USB cable because you never know the kind of price you'll have to pay for the cable.

The Touch Screen is Awesome Cant believe that Nokia has made such an awesome Touchscreen at such a Low Price. I can even PREDICT that in the Next 6 - 8 months Nokias TouchScreen Experience will be much better then iPhones. Lets See ;)

Kinetic Scrolling Experience is a Bit Stuck Up though. A lot of improvement has been made in the SCROLLING department when compared to Nokia 5800 XM. But if you have experienced an iPod Touch or iPhone Scrolling then compared to that experience Nokias 5230 can only score a 3.8/5 MAX.

Nokia has made a very SMART MOVE in providing the TouchScreen Vibration in this Phone so that the USERs dont end up pressing the TFT Resistive Touchscreen too much (the phone sends a mini vibration to ur hands when this mode is enabled.) But at the same time they have provided the TouchScreen TONE option (which gives a TONE when u press the touchscreen) By default only the Touchscreen Vibration is enabled while the Tone option is set to off.

MONO Speaker: By Mono Speaker I guess it means that only a Single Speaker is available instead of 5800 XM's double Speakers..... but nonetheless the Sound Quality of this single Speaker is Latest Stereo Quality & its quite LOUD on its own.

Earphones: I used my iPod Earphones and again the sound quality is amazing when mixed with all sorts of settings provided. The sound experience gets much better & I am sure theres something for everyone. Although the Headset that comes along isnt something to write Home about.

Double Clicks: There is something that I am not sure if most of the people will like it or not. When using the Menu there are places here n there where u are needed to double click. But maybe the TouchScreen Technology demands it.

Call Quality: I made and received calls and the Sound Quality was Loud & Clear although I am a bit Skeptical about My Reliance 3G Ready GSM Sim Cards Network/Signal. The Signal bar is continuously FLUCTUATING while the CDMA one is FULL and Constant.

One more thing people please do not believe in Rumors being spread by Phone Shop owners who only care to SELL you something as long as Nokia 5230 is not available accross India. Their is absolutely nothing wrong with this Phone and its a HUGE HIT accross the WORLD. While on the other HAND Nokia just couldnt DARE to get it wrong with this one because 5230 is Nokias Answer to other Mobile Manufacturers. Nokia is going to show its PROWESS....... Its Muscle with its lineup in the upcoming months. There MUST be a LOT going on in Nokias Offices. Mobile CONGRESS is coming up & Nokia is planning its Own ShowDown at around the same time in the same City.

There can be one thing though for Nokia 5230 suddenly dissapearing from the Indian Mobile Market and that has to do with Nokias latest decision about Ovi Maps being FREE so maybe.... "JUST MAYBE" Nokia is planning to Pre PACK Local Ovi Maps in the Handset itself (Makes Sense) because most of the people buying this phone might not really be good with computer technology and so they might not really use Ovi Maps which would contradict Nokias Decision. But the CATCH is that Customers will have to SHELL Out more money for Nokia 5230 with Ovi Maps already included.

Bottom Line: Buy Nokia 5233 if Music is all that you care for OTHERWISE Nokia 5230 ...AWESOME .... AWESOME.... AWESOME !!!!!!

Help!!! i am using the PC SUITE drag and drop i am unable to do so....what mode to keep for wot action eg-- image from PC to phone--image transfer mode? songs---media transfer mode?
the prob is the media transfer mode automatically shifts to PC suite mode so u cannot drag and drop!!!
the advantage of PC suite drag and drop is that songs convert to AAC format
