1. The sales package of 5230 in India has a stylus. The stylus slot is with the back panel. Just like 5800 XM ( here's an image of 5800's back : http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php3?sImg=reviewsimg/nokia-5800-xpressmusic/phone/gsmarena_027.jpg )
By the way it also comes with the plectrum stylus ( looks like this : http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php3?sImg=reviewsimg/nokia-5800-xpressmusic/phone/gsmarena_038.jpg )
Yoy get both these with the sales package.
As far as handling the phone without a stylus is concerned, S60 offers large on screen icon/buttons for various actions and it will not be a problem.
Point to note is that 5230 share the same UI as Nokia's current N-series flagship, the N97 mini. Navigating the phone's UI with just your fingers is smooth. Infact it is designed to be used without fingers, one of the reasons why in some countries 5230 comes without a stylus.
But in India it comes with one. If you use this phone you'll see that the stylus will have limited or no use.
2. Data cable and Memory card are not included in India's sales package.
3. As mentioned, no Memory card or Data cable. The Data cable it supports is A micro USB one. And it will support micro SD cards upto 16 GB capacity. You have to buy these seperately. 5230 is priced around 8900 in Mumbai, but the price is as low as 8300 in other parts of India.

i know this question is directed to Farhan but would like to answer it
1) it has 2 stylus 1 in back cover(normal one), and plectrum stylus.
2) it doesnt come with an Memory card or Data Cable in India.

The info u have given about the phone is useful & informative but, I have a few clarifications & thought I cud check with u. I have decided 2 get my first Touch Screen Phone. I had done a lot of research work comparing 2 phones which are LG KP500 Cookie and Nokia 5230 XP. One thing which has been bothering me since I have started comparing the phone is the Stylus. I find LG giving a stylus along with the package whereas Nokia 5230 XP does not. This has made me very sceptical in taking a decision whether I shud go in for LG or Nokia.
I'd like to know the following from u which wud help me take a better decision.
1. Is the phone worth using without a stylus or to put it in better terms is the phone easy to handle without the stylus since there is no slot provided for the stylus even if I get it separately ?
2. Does "Data cable" and "Memory Card" come along with the package ?
3. If I do get a data cable what is the capacity of the memory card I wud get ?
I am in a very confused state and wud appreciate if u cud guide me out regarding this.

Using scroll bars? wake up, kinetic scrolling works everywhere. How would you know if you haven't used it. It has the same interface as N97, N97 mini that are priced thrice and twice respectively to its own price.
There is no question of Star being better than 5230. And why, just because you made a mistake by buying it???

ashish, 19 Jan 2010hi if u r a nokia 5230 user can u plzzzz tell me is the pro... morego for samsung star wifi with eyes closed . after i got it , more known people got it just because they found the interface very mature and easy to use,good music ,good qwery , slim and light weight etc . but if u after applications then go for this .

SR, 19 Jan 2010I want to take the liberty of advising you to go for Nokia ... morePeople who haven't ever used good touchscreens will not realize the idea behind 'single touch' . Apart from nokia , is there any maker where we have to perform doubleclicks , so use scroll bars ? I mean you wont ever understand the comparasion of 'single touch' till u experience two different phone makers. if you read gsmarena itself , they call the interface as 'still evolving ....'

today i have update my mobile from yesterday firmware11.0.079 to 12.0.089 i have found that due to update mobile become little more faster i again said that this mobile is much better from samsung corby and star go and grab one.

Hello everyone ...i got nokia 5230 and its been 5 days..overall experience has been very good till now ...absolute stunning phone with great touch response and UI...but only bug it has is if you set you alarm and when your screen is locked you cannot shut down the alarm and on unlocking alarm goes off but but goes into snoozing mode and starts again after snooze time configured. Moreover the options shown on the screen to stop the alrm does not work when screen is locked...so you have to actually unloack and go to alarm settings and then remove the alarm...
