bought the phone today in delhi for rs 7950 only including bill,warrenty and taxes. its also available at the Hotspot,for rs 8050.
works well with 3g here in delhi.

Poor handset....not many video formats supported, difficult to configure GPRS settings, poor battery, camera is ok, sound is very low, poor headset in the box package....

I mean Nokia 5230 with LG Cookie.
The only positives Cookie has over 5230 is smaller form factor, 3.15 MPx camera and probably a cheaper price tag.

hey all. please reply..i am about to buy this phone.can anybody tell how the call quality through the earpiece is? is it loud and clear or low? i like this phone -especially GPRS - full screen and symbian... no wi-fi support is not problem for me...i am in front of computer all day.if the call quality through earpiece is very good, i will but this handset... (sorry for my bad English)

Hi This is sumit from Delhi.I hav took this mobile on Jan 8 and i Luv this mobile screen is big to watch videos and camera is good.It is good phone in this price range and net speed is also good

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2010I have been using nokia devices eversince and have no gripe... moreWell I'm not an expert of Nokia but from what I feel, Nokia wasn't prepared for the iPhone hurricane. So they just got a touchscreen device out to tap the market.
Samsung and LG on the other hand were into the touch screen segment with WinMo devices. Touch Wiz that you see in Corby first made an appearance in Omnia i900 that was running WinMo 6.1.
So yeah its difficult to get a functional touch interface ready quickly to be revolutionary.
But I guess with N97s Nokia is catching up and now with N900 it has probably the most versatile phone cum internet tablet in the market. That's sure revolutionary stuff.

DB, 11 Jan 2010@Farhan, internet is said to be fast on 5230. Is it because... morePositives of 5230 over 5530 XM is not just 3G. It's got GPS, larger screen.
And its not fast internet, its more like "future ready" in India atleast in comparison to 5530.
But 3G is available in Mumbai through MTNL. And also in Delhi.
5530 on the other hand has WiFi so that means faster broadband internet but only at Wi-Fi hotspots (or near a Wi-Fi router)
So, again (...phew) it is about "individual choice" : Wi-Fi or 3G/GPS etc.
Price I think will be higher for 5530 XM because it has 3.15 MPx camera.

People who think they'll never inst... moreI have been using nokia devices eversince and have no gripe and find them very good. but its just lately that when i felt that instead of some other manufacturer , nokia should have introduced a revolutionary touch interface ....been a pioneer .

@Farhan, internet is said to be fast on 5230. Is it because of the 3G or 'class 32' GPRS? If the latter, then 5530 cancels out its advantages in this regard. And 3G is not yet available in India, so this should not be the reason.
BTW, can any1 tell me the selling price of 5530?

V, 11 Jan 2010I got my 5230 on 09 Jan, the white version with pink back c... moreI have had this phone for about 4 days and love it! yes it might have a few disadvantages but all in all this is by far the best nokia phone I have had to date!
So simple to use and love the large screen and no buttons!
I honestly dont understand all the gripes? Its just a phone!!!!!
I recieved three back covers, data cable and ac charger with mine.
Mine has a white front though I am in Australia so maybe we get different than other countries? I think it looks sharp and classy...
I LOVE IT!!!!!
I paid $299 (aus) with a free unlock at vodafone as I could not find any other store in my town that sold this phone.
