Yes I charged the cell for 18-20 hours before the first continuous use. 4-5 hours or 15-20 hours of initial charge all depends on the person who is advising you and the reasons he has to support that.
In a previous reply to @jan, i stated the reasons why longer initial charging is required.
Nevertheless, If anyone has a better explanation please let me know.

The problem is may be due to duplicate entries on your memory card and sim. delete contacts on either one and this should solve ur prob.

Though I didnot test reading pdfs on my 5230. but ya.. reading pdf's on that small (comparatively) screen would be tedious for eyes. and aboout max size of pdf's etc, didnt test till now. will let you know in due time.

i think the black one looks a little outdated.......and the white one would get dull appearance faster.....

Hi anyone please tell me how good is this phone in reading pdf. Does it got a pdf and office document viewer. If yes what memory does it deal with. What size does it read for the max. Please someone help.

I bought it for 8500Rs in Nokia Priority.
Phone is really good. Especailly white colour really rocks..
Cheaper than 5800 Express music ( ~ 5500 Rs less)

The phone does not come with a memory card or a datacable. So be prepared to shell out 700 extra.

I got this from nokia priority dealer in mumbai for 9000 inr. Phone is very good except for the volume levels. The volume levels in the headphones and the loudspeaker volume are too low. Its difficult to listen to music in a crowded noisy place.

... morei bought the phone today...believe me its awesum..GPS working well , browsing is very fast, ringtone volume is normal,heaphones sound is low as compared to 5800,
only major drawback is 2.0MP without a flash....

I have a question : How is the experience of reading .pdf documents? In both portrait and landscape mode.
Does it strain the eye if you read for long periods???

Its like Rs 600/- more.
I don't think you get a return ticket to Karnataka in 600.
But for a more expensive handset, the travel will actually save you money. Only if one has time.
And about the memory card, do you think 1 GB is enough???
Videos and all. You would be using this phone to half its potential if you aren't watching videos on it.
And applications. They too require memory.

I am from bangalore and I bought this fone yesterd... more5230 isnt available at The Mobile store in Mumbai city(dont know why!!) the customer care centre isnt too aware of the arrival time. The price at Mobile store will be Rs 8978/-(in mumbai as per customer call centre).
But in Mumbai Handsets available at Planet M stores(stocks are limited there) price is Rs 8900/-(incl 12.5% VAT).
I just purchased mine from them.
I got all Black colour one with stylus, battery, plectrum stylus, headphones and with additional 90 RS 2 year warranty.
Planet M also offers Theft warranty at 2% of Price of Handset.
Iam getting used to handset but iam preety happy with what i have!! Enjoyin the touch.
and for all those who crib pay more and get N97 mini or some other model.
