hi.dnt buy costly earphones.they are equally damaging to ears as cheap chinese ones. so buy some good inear chinese earphone in less than 100 rs. but you have to find some yourself. i have one it has better bass than originl sony headphone wity extreme deep bass. high piched sound is a bit low but it cn b adjusted by modifying equalizzer settings. chinese headsets are crap but some r.good.too. find if u cn.

AnonD-6754, 22 Apr 2011thx frnd 4 ur valuable reply...but still confused which 1 t... moreFor Rs800 you can buy Philips SHE3680(699MRP)or it's smaller cousin SHE3580, finding one in local stores can be a pain though. They are better than EP-630 or the WH-205.

As far as EP-630 is concerned, well it's good if you can get them in the sub Rs600 range(I got mine for Rs550), make sure it's the real deal and not some cheap chinese copy. Some stores sell them for Rs800-950, frankly I wouldn't buy it for that price that too when I can get the SHH9700 for around Rs1000(that's what I paid for them, it's not a bad choice even if you have to pay Rs1499). OK now the reason I say EP-630 is not worth Rs800-900 is because I can get SHH9700 by paying Rs200 extra. Don't get me wrong, the creative is definitely not a bad earphone and is better than WH-205(even in the bass department) but it's no where near the SHH9700 in terms of sound quality.
SHH9700 has crystal clear sound, deep lows, good mid and highs. There is good separation between different sound chords which is very pronounced when listening to rock/metal songs. You can clearly differentiate the different/multiple guitar chords even when there is booming bass drums playing in the background. In the case of EP-630/WH-205 it's kinda like a muddy mixed bag. The lack of decent sound stage is a big minus too. SHH9700 has good sound stage, not as good as the costlier SHE9800 but way better than EP-630 or WH-205(I even tested some 3D stereophonic records and the result was dismal for creative and WH-205, SHH9700 was awesome with almost full 360 degree effect coupled with proper illusion of directionality and depth perception).

Overall I'll say go for Philips SHE3680/3580(ie if you can find them, try Philips Arena stores) or SHH/SHE9700 if it's available for Rs1000. Next in line would be EP-630 followed by WH-205.

AnonD-6754, 22 Apr 2011thx frnd 4 ur valuable reply...but still confused which 1 t... moreWell mate I second utk's opinions. The problem is that your budget of 800rs seems to sit in an awkward position as unfortunately there ain't any good earphones available at this price range. If you can get an EP-630 for that price well and good. For 349rs WH-205 offers great audio quality and as utk pointed out it's a great value for money earphone. In addition, the builtin call button and mic is a bonus. I have a pair with me right now which I borrowed from my uncle who got it bundled with his 5800. The only downside of it is the poor highs and mids. But on the brighter side, it's got loads of bass - something which is favored by the vast majority of people. If you yearn for a bit more audio quality, I suggest you extend your budget at least to 1500. At this price range there are a lot of options like the sound magic PL30 and philips shh9700 etc. You might even consider sony's ex50sl. Not as balanced as 9700 but still better sounding than WH-205 with powerful bass and average mids and highs. It costs around 990.

Deep powerful lows, decent mids and mediocre highs and very uncomfortable(can be adjusted by using other brand's buds) to wear for long durations.

I'll give the EP-630 a slight edge in sound quality but overall WH-205 being a headset(comes with a mic) and cheaper has the best VFM between the two.

By the way, if you are looking for something with really good sound quality with a natural balanced output go for Philips SHH9700(you will have to stretch your budget a bit) or better.. go for Philips SHE3580...these babies cost Rs 499MRP and are a real VFM with excellent audio output.
