AnonD-542, 07 Apr 2011Can you teach me how to use this dark rain effect. Is it bu... moreJust copy the effects folder to resources, same procedure nothing different(BTW the old c2z patch didn't work for me, phone restarted every time I applied it. I had to make a new one).
The problem is that, every time you enter a menu or HS the screen goes blank and you have to change the orientation of your phone to make it visible again. Perhaps porting it into the FW may overcome this glitch.

But i am knda pissed cause Ttpod4 isn't working. It never did in any original firmware. In only c6 and n97 it did.

Cause me and side have used katalyst^2 on v40. But i won't recommend you to do the same with c6 based cfws cause the core is different in those.

novice, 07 Apr 2011thanks sb i will definately try blaze but at the end as wha... moreDejavu does work in Blaze, But the problem is that the menu is so fast that by the time the particle effect loads up you are already at the next screen and the effect gets cut in it's track. BTW effects are not applied to the highlight bar(not sure whether dejavu originally has it or not but it's not working for weed, smoke or the like)

Can you give a few differientiat... moreThe gallery seem super fast with the images loading almost instantaneously like in C6(I have thousands of images and hundreds of videos including full length movies). Scrolling through menu is much faster and smoother than before.
I experimented a bit with theme effects, a lot of effects hat didn't work previously works now but still it's not at the level of C6. 'Discord' still doesn't work properly but, I was surprised to see animated rain and thunder on my homescreen when I applied 'Dark rain'(never tried in Katalyst, so don't know whether it's an improvement or not), too bad that effects pack is too buggy to use.
Improvement in RAM is definitely THE major + point of Blaze, touch to unlock is a welcome and cool addition.

thanks sb i will definately try blaze but at the end as what i have came to know that its based on v40. if i upgrade my21.0.004 to 40 then i wont be able to downgrade it . am i right? and wont be able to use katalyst and arun or vic mode. i like those djvu effects. however my last choice would be blaze as i am a heavy user. thanks again

AnonD-295, 06 Apr 2011I said many times to you to hard reset. But you never did. ... moreOkay dude, you kinda feel upset with me. I will try again following each and every step you mentioned. But this time i will simply keep a backup of the system files of C and E drive, in case i mess up things.
Btw, heard that Envy^5 based on this n97 port will be released today. Any idea if its true or not?
Oh and as for my being scared and givin up thing, its not true. Cause i still got warranty and hence i will be pleased even if i happen to blow my set (will get a replacement, he he). But it was kinda creepy when my imei got erased all of a sudden. My bad i didn't hard reset.

In addition Blaze is based on the latest V40 fw. And Blaze is something completely different from the original firmware. They have actually used the C6 Rofs2 file and replaced it with the original files of 5233. So if you are planning on flashing your phone with Blaze, you should download the core files by Binh24 separately for Blaze and should not use the original v40 5233 firmware files. It should be noted that the core files for blaze does not contain the Rofs3 file. Instead everything is packed into the Rofs2 file itself to obtain more space for adding mods and apps. replace the Rofs of core with the modded file and replace the ud file with the one that is supplied with blaze.
The rest is done as ususal. Follow the same procedures for flashing. Also note that after flashing, do not hard reset the phone.

The phone is a bit more snapy and the amount of free RAm is a bit more than in Katalyst. There are however quite a few mods unique to Blaze like the 'tap to unlock' screen seen in S^3 and recent S^1 devices like C5-03. I'm not sure which mod they have used for kinetic scrolling but it is super smooth and feels more natural to the touch. The browser seems stable as well. Haven't come across any flash player related issues. There's a bubch of useful apps that come preloaded as well like auto installer and Memory check. The most welcome feature for me is the availability of more free RAM which now lets me run the latest version of SPB shell more smoothly. The battery life also need a bit of mentioning as well. I thing battery life has improved a lot. I get 2 days of moderate usage easily even with the shell running on top of it. I also like the breathing lights for the charger as well. However some of the patches like 'disable profile switch note' doesn't seem to work. I enabled the bass effects patch to get the best audio quality and it does work well. Tomorrow gonna get myself a WH-205 for rough use and for music on the go. My she9800 is showing signs of wear and tear so gotta give it a bit of rest. Don't have enough money to buy a new pair so gotta make due with the WH-205 for now. My bought one from Nokia Priority for 349/-.

Mate, n97 flashing is a totally different thing.
Even without any modes i feel it way better than useless C6 port.
Most of the guys got only two bugs ,call and camera bugs. Call bug can be fixed right from the phone. Camera bug can be fixed with NFE.(bug is only with image mode )
Apart from these, it will beat useless C6in every department. Ram value is awesome. Ngage and AVC videos worked like a charm. I can show screenshots from my mobile.
I salute the guys of daily mobile for their hard work .They and beta testers like me are not earning a single penny for this.
C6 is now a history for me at least.

Oh well. H.264 didn't work at all. Not nHD nor anything above qvga. I returned back to my previous firmware as it didn't have any mods and hence i wasn't feeling good with the way the phone handled. Although i have to say that its kinda fast. Waithing for the final version or better still a cfw based on it.
So guys, its better to stay away from it for a while unless you want to contribute to its development being a beta tester.
Oh btw, Vx is our old friend Venugopal and he can help a lot with firmware related stuffs as he has learnt a lot from dailymobile recently.
