its nice phone but there is sound problem, that is very low even its incoming calls cant be known without vibration. Internet using is good and other facilitis are also nice. Battery back up is also gud ultimatey in short it is a nice phone in very chiep price and providing the trust of nokia.

I did not try to install maps in tribute when i used it. But you can try like this --Extract the rofs2 of tribute with firmware editor. Now you will have an extracted folder in the NFE folder.
Now open nokia firmware cleaner. Using it, open the above extracted folder. You can see tick marks on the built in apps in the firmware. Now only tick the app you want to delete.(maps ). Click '+ 'button and then click delete button. It will say 'done '. Now close the cleaner.
Open the firmware editor now and repack the rofs2. Flash with it. Now you will be able to install the latest version of maps in your phone.

(1)splash screen (blue nokia logo)and
(2)boot screen (hand shake )
We can change them within the phone so that no flashing is required for each time we change it.
You can change your boot screen using a sis applicaton. The name of the app is 'gif booting by oreo27 and crazygen final.sis'.Using that app,any gif files can be used as a boot screen. You can even use any jpg wallpaper by renaming it as 'startup.gif'.put it in c:/boot/
(go to daily mobile topic=15613.15).Worked fine in my phone.
You can restore default boot screen (nokia hand shake )using another sis app . (daily mobile topic=24686.0). Worked for me.
You can change shutdown image using a patch in rom patcher. Google 'symbian freak -change shut down splash screen '

I purchase this phone 5 days ago. it's video quality is amazing. but exception of some videos(those which previously storage in this phone like 'yuvraaj' or 'dabaang'song is really awesome) whatever I download from zedge.net or mobile9-that videos are just average quality when it's playing in 5233. i'm not satisfied with this type of average quality videos. so my question is to all of u guys-FROM WHERE I FIND GOOD QUALITY VIDEOS(CRYSTAL CLEAR)? please help me a.s.a.p.

All we need to do is use Nokia fw editor to open the rofs2 file and replace the startup screen with custom one. The startup screen is splashscreen.mif in resource/apps and shutdown is sysap.mif. You will need a jpeg to mif converter to get the job done.

Nothing beats ofw in... moreWell im not sure! its a tough call, im really gonna miss c6,thre was the new photos, that too at the cost of ram, the widgetized homescreen,which will be sorely missed, the file structure in photos,music and ringtone chooser,and pretty much the whole fw, what are the odds?I'm more of a guy inclined to eye candy yet performance remains a prority at par.(is the ovi maps apps working in katalyst, coz it aint working in my tribute,even though it installs never shows up in phone)

Great phone guys , cheap rate . Support mostly all softwares . Using for three months. Battery back up s too low . Texting means hardly one day otherwise more than three. Clarity wise an performance so happy:-)
