btw tell ME the best latest cfw firmwares for both c6 and 5230s 33 etc. based firmware.

AnonD-350, 05 Feb 2011I did get what you said dude. Your explanations are always ... moreRam is not what swype eats the most. Its actually the processor strain that it causes. Everything first starts in the processor, then comes to ram and then to the display. Even if processor is cent percent utilised, the ram can keep the system stable by proper maintainance of the data flow. This ram maintainance is what c6 firmware lacks (i.e its not at par with 5233's). When data doesn't get out of the ram and the processor keeps pushing more data into it, then the apps crash or the phone hangs. In such cases, keeping the phone idle is the best thing to do instead of pressing all the keys to somehow get the phone working.
Btw, the biggest ram hog is the default browser. Open a 2mb webpage and your ram will reach below 10mb. Continue using and....crash!!!

I was supporting your views that c6port has got some bugs. I am using unleashed now. I am facing browser crashes. Media bar was not working but today fixed it.
Btw, is swype a ram eater ?

I know that line out option unavailability is an universal problem (actually lineout doesn't exist in c6).

Is there anyone try the new firmware update. Nokia send me a sms about. I just checked in the nokia website and it shows V40.XXXX available. my phones current versiton is V21.1004. So that is a big update. Is there anyone update that version. If so please tell me about it. I wants to update.

Move mediabar.exe from unsure to
protected list in Kill Me app. Also
DON'T restart, just turn off, remove
battery and turn on the device.

what is the difference between wired & wireless broadband (in respect of price/value/affordability/coverage/tariff) ?
i have a desktop, so mobility is not necessary for me. can anyone suggest me which one to go for? i am interested in wireless usb sticks, i am a budget-concious person & don't need lightning speed. which of the following would be the best for me?

The main thing I didn't like about c6 is its ram management. Maybe tribute is better than my last used(unleased darkem). How much ram do you get when you restart your device? I need at least a 55mb to change my mind.
Btw, I was one of the first here to try c6 when it released. And the best thing I liked was its gallery. But no matter what cfw of c6 it is, I don't get the following (which I can't compromise).
1. No lineout option(a little compromisable)
2. Minimum brightness level isn't low enough (compared to original, c6 stays at 40% of maximum in its lowest settings). Hence, very painful to use at complete darkness.
3. System synchronisation with swype is a disaster. Crashes too much and also crash along the adjacent application. I use opera mini symbian for 90% of my time in my mobile and use swype along with it. Just imagine how frustrating it would be to crash in between sessions of huge web page loading?
4. Battery backup decreases(i don't care, though)
5. Camera is still buggy (sometimes flash option turns on, by selecting landscape or night, and the camera interface go haywire).
If tribute rectifies each of these then I am definately switching. Power users, like me, needs the fastest. I even keep theme effects turned off to gain that extra speed and ram.

I don't... moreYa dude,ndesk is gud enough.bt i feel by using ndesk on katalyst i wl not get the feautres which i m getting in c6 based firmware,like photon c6 or unleashed tribute edition.the feauters r:
* browsing in gallery is around 5 times faster compared to katalyst. N it got a new style of browsing.
* music player also works many times faster than katalyst or d original firmware.
* u can add your favourite contacts using Add to favourites option.this makes us to sending text or to making calls easy.
* dialler got a new look and contact search is enbled here.which is usuful.
* widgetized home screen, thts the best part.
* if you are using the unleashed tribute edition (c6 based), then you can place your personal/secret images or videos in the "Wallpapers" folder in memory card. Gallery and videos will not show these files. i.e. you can hide your files without any app.
So these are the plus points, so its upon you what you choose.but for me it is best till now,n its bugless now. hav a look.

I don't like c6 that much. Too heavy on resources.
And now as I use N-desk, I don't miss c6 at all. Even bought the code to make it registered. The best app I ever used (use even less ram than the default menu, still very fast and very stable). Arranging icons is a breeze. Full screen menu and changeable grid structure is another plus. Now am using 6x4 menu structure. I seriously recommend ndesk to everyone.
