using opera mobile 10 ,i think vodafone mobile connect gives smooth youtube streaming.Wih wap services it is not that much good. anyway, new software update seems to have rectified browser crashes.

The main body, that is the middle part encasing the internal elements is plastic and it's the same for back cover. Compare that with other true metal bodied phones like 6300, 6303.
Btw, it's not us who are feeling insecure and comparing 5233 with other models.

It has a metal ring, body is made out of plastic. Are you sure you have a 5530?

by the way i have tested Nokia 5310 XpressMusic it is slim and stylish, 2 mp cam is better than 5230 except for the video, sound is totally better than 5230

If you are so loyal to your phone then why don't you help those in 5530 forum. Your phone is nothing special than having a good design. Your device has similar software issues as this phone. Don't forget, they have the exact same hardware and os. Besides, comparisons are made among equally priced decices like 5233 and c5. So, stop bugging. I know you won't, but whats wrong in saying, right?

Please post a new comment stating in which exact places you face difficulties. We can help you make this phone a better one.
1. The audio hardware in 5233 is more advanced and powerful than 5310. The reason that you are getting different output is because of the default headphones. 5310 has got a much better one in its sales package compared to that of 5233 which got a very cheap one. It was done to minimise the end price of the product. I suggest you to buy another headset. And if you are reffering to the fact that this phone's volumn through headphone is low, then just select the 'line out' option when you connect a headphone. The volume will increase substantially. And when you buy a new headphone, make sure it doesn't have any mic or handsfree facilities. As that will disable the line out option when connected.
2. As for the problem with connecting to web, make sure you have gprs service activated. Also, when you open the default browser, go to settings/general and select the access point as that of wap services, not internet. For example, in vodafone, there are two kinds of access points. One is 'vodafone live' the other 'vodafone mobile connect'. The previous one is the correct access point. The second one will only allow you to browse net using your mobile as a modem to your pc. This may not be the case with all operators, but just in case.

[deleted post]I guess i should have waited for some time. I admit that i had given a harsh comment. But i was putting more emphasis on the fact that i was having a debate with walkman about audio quality. He being a troll, i just made an assumption that he is the one writing the post of taousif alam as he does write using other people's names. And the fact that the comment started with the audio quality being bad, it just snapped my cords and i assumed its that cursed walkman. I was making fun of him that he is even stupid than his own self. Those who know me from my days of nokia 5130 knows that i have never been rude to any newbie. That reply was entirely meant for walkman.
I have to thank those who corrected me, and please don't feel sorry for your reply to my comment. It was my fault in the first place. From now on, i will be more careful on replying. Damn you walkman, even your absense creates havoc around here.
Taousif alam, i owe you an apology. Hope you excuse. Anyways, you can also ask any questions regarding s40 phones. Me and utk here have used nokia 5130xm for a long time before buying 5233. We helped a lot of guys like you in 5130 forum for more than a year. We know everything about s40, believe it.
And again, thank you all for correcting me. Its good to know that there are many more like me who likes helping others.

Third eye, 12 Oct 2010If nokia have to win in smart phone market ,what they have ... moreThis is not mid range, this is low range and is the only smartphone OS operating in this price range. Symbian is still a very good multitasking platform although not as eye catchy as the others. You can find videos of N85 and samsung omnia running 60 apps at a time on symbian, check them out on youtube. Give credit where it's due.
As for symbian^3, they will make their way into mid range phones ones they are done with flagship N, C and E series. Nokia will probably reserve extrem top spot for meego devices.

For eg:-
the problem may be due to
-you may be opening more and more applications at once.
-whats the version of your phones frimware.
-what is the capacity of the memory card you use.
-how much capacity of memory is left in your phone memory.etc.....
If you are frustrated of using this phone and wants to quit. Then ok because this is not the only phone in the world. You can go for other phones.
One more thing this is not a music phone. So you can't enjoy music through loudspeaker.
But when it comes to internet experience, if is better then nokia 5310
