Hello Everyone,
I purchased Nokia 5233 and it's a great phone i love it but tell me onething how to play .flv (youtube downloaded videos) on it ? Flash lite 3.0 is installed in my phone and when i open .flv file it shows nothing please help me.

Because I truly believe you, SidewindeR and CTSI are expert here in Nokia 5233 forum for the past several months I guess. I'm not an AUDIOPILE person, just sharing my thoughts with regards to the sound quality between 5233, w200i and ipod 5th gen. Thats all about it.

Download 'powermp3' by google searching. Its a symbian software(i.e with .sis extension). Inside this software, you will find a mega bass like option(i kinda forgot what its called). Click it on. Then go to the software's equiliser and increase the first line to 1/4th the maximum. Then compare your Mega Bass with this. Its just too astounding. By the way, by using this software you can increase your volume to a couple of extra levels. Compared to the default media player of nokia 5233, powermp3 can produce much higher bass as well as all other aspects of audio quality. And also, the music chip in this device is much more advanced than 5th generation ipod. So PLEASE everyone, please do some research before commenting. Sidewinder and CTSI are exceptions, by the way. Their comments are flawless.

Ok it gives you that kind of a refinement and punch but is now way near what audiophile quality is. That is the sole reason why SE has taken away this feature in their high end walkmans. Mega Bass gives you unmatched bass but at the expense of the high and mid tones. It sounds so muffled and lacks clarity in the upper frequency range. It is no way balanced and all that bass also adds to that hiss which you get in between silences. try playing a silent mp3 file without any audio and you'll understand what I mean. And quality is not measured by the amount of bass the phone can pump out even if bass is the essence of music.

I would like to share my honest thoughts about this forum about the Nokia 5233. To begin with, I'm not rich BTW, I have a 2 1/2 year old SE W200, an Ipod 5th Generation which I bought thru my nepnew Eli in L.A. and this 3 week old marvelous Nokia 5233. I will concentrate on the quality of sound of which people below are arguing with. Nokia 5233 - average sounds even if you set the equalizer (great video BTW) Ipod 5th Gen. - good enough using my philips she9551/9550 and creative EP630. Sony Ericsson W200i - setting the equalizer to Mega Bass, Wow! The Best! MEGA BASS THE BEST!

what do you mean you just flashed your phone?... moreActually, anyone with good computer prowess can use Phoenix to successfully upgrade, or downgrade Nokia's FW, & bring a dead mobile bak to life. I have saved many Nokias that were out of warranty with a "Dead USB Flash"
Bear in mind that the Phoenix that is floating around the web is a cracked version.

It's totally your choice mate. i'm just an ordinary 5233 user that answers some of your queries. And if you can't make up your mind and take a decision on your own, that just your problem. I never said that 5233 is better than 5230. For the price it's the best you can get. If you can spend a bit more, then 5230 is definitely the better choice. It's as if like you saying that 5233 is a bad phone.
And congrats on your purchase. Guess you're better of sticking to your 5230 forum.

Just like in pc, u can set default browser, music player, video player, image viewer in 5233. Under settings phone app sett defapps. Really fundu fone. A finger top it is.:))

hi sidewindeR i planned to buy 5233 ,,but in last minute i purchased 5230 with that 2 gb card , xlnt stand , gps and 3g in only 1000 rs extra ,,,,dont encourage other to buy 5233 unnecessary let them buy good phones like 5230 ,,, :)
