Could anyone please tell me,whats the life span of a touchscreen cell phone? Does it get damaged quickly? I would love to use this phone for a minimum of 3 years! Please answer me :)

Manu, 30 Aug 2010Guys the best way to update the software of your phone is t... moremr. manu...why ur scaring others by saying dont flash with 5230....and by the way v21 is far better than v12....once u flash with v21 why on earth u wud like to return to v12...just remember one thing after flashing u 've to change ur product code to ur previous nokia 5235...that means the original one....so that if nokia releases any firmware upgradation of nokia 5235 it will upgraded to that firmware..happy flashing..

Pooja, 29 Aug 2010@Arpit and Akhlesh but i want to buy 5235 or 5230 it is... moreHi pooja,i cant say that its sound is loud.Since the both phones has same hardware both phones has only average sound through loudspeaker.But through earphones it is viceversa.But both have BEST audio quality through earphones(if u buy a good earphone).I am using my sansa media player's high quality earphones.Wish u all the best.

Guys the best way to update the software of your phone is through Nokia care...search for your nearest Nokia service center and get the software of your phone updated Nokia has released new firmwire for 5235..pls do not flash your phone to make it 5230....if you all are interested in 5230 firmwire then why did you guys purchased 5235 worth 8500 rupees, you should have purchased 5230 which is cheaper than Nokia 5235...If your phone is under warranty make us of Nokia Care...and not a hacking software

neelu, 30 Aug 2010hi deep can u plz explain breifly hw can v update 5230 firmwareHi neelu, just use the search option, the flashing method is fully described in the previous posts. You can use NSS software to change the product code of your phone and then update the firware through Nokia software updater.
Please note once you change the sotware to Nokia 5230 then there will be no turning back as you will not be able to change your phone back to 5235 unless nokia release a nw software version for 5235 with version V21 or above....

Guyz today i've flashed my nokia 5235 to 5230 firmware and updated it.....its awesome...the best part is ....
...smooth UI
...swift autorotation
...kinetic scrooling on menu
....awesome web browser
....better video recording
i've used NSS and nokia software updater,,,working fine...

arpit982, 29 Aug 2010try using nokia photo browser.....it will only display imag... moreYes. you are right. Nokia photo browser excludes system icons and interface images. But it has very limited functionality (being free version?) compared to 5235's included photo viewer. Neither of them supports folder-wise viewing.

5230,5235?... moreif u wanna buy undr 13000 plz go for 5800 as its an all in one package...but keep in mind...the software of 5800 is still laggy and u can't compare it to the one found on 5230 or 5235...and i still don't understand y u don't like x6???
And the difference b\w 5230 and 5235 has been made very clear in the previous post..plz refer to tht...
5235 is better in looks than the 5230 and u don't wanna invest on 5230 and let ppl think u bought a 5233...

Is there a way to view photos by folder? Gallery of 5235 shows all photos in one place, which irritatingly shows icons and interfaces of installed programs (also photos we don't want everyone to see). There is a similar problem with Realplayer, which can't play music folder-wise. Installing Powermp3 solved this. Is there any image viewer program which can do folder-wise?

Document viewer is only for viewing e-mail attachments. You can't open word, excel and pp files directly. The sad thing is that we can't read documents legibly with full-screen and have to scroll horizontally which affects smooth reading. Full-screen is not really full-screen, because zoom-in and out menu button occupy some space unnecessarily. I don't know which phone supports text zooming with wrapping.
