just an update about my comparison on 6300 and 5310:
i realized that when pics taken from both phones are uploaded on a computer, the quality of the pics look pretty much the same. so i guess it's the LCD of the 5310 that is inferior to 6300, not the camera, which made the pictures "look" more blurry on the 5310 as compared to the 6300.
another thing i noticed, the 5310's video player does not have a rewind / fast forward function.
but the 5310 is still sexy as hell!!! lol!

try to upd8 ur firmware to v. 05.81
try to use m4a files not mp3 files!
m4a files are less in size but still the same in the output quality!

when i first bought my new phone, nokia 5310,i felt great and confidenr coz it was the talk of the town...recently, i had been experiencing problems...the phone is hanging almost everyday a couple of times a day...and that makes me disappointed...when it get hanged, i have no choice but to get its battery to refresh...i don't know..maybe the store where i bought it has the problem...i try to make use of the warranty to check it up...it's very disappointing...

V 05.81 for 5310
I have noticed that the output sound is increased! sounds like a 5300.
The small font size in messaging has increased also in size
that's all the things I have noticed

Great fone for music, luv the bluetooth headfones, unfortunately i had it for a month and the memory card failed to work with the fone anymore, all my music was on the card, its in for repairs and after a month i am still waiting for it to be returned, ok i must remember i live in south africa, everything takes time. But otherwise it is lightweight in comparison with the fone i had (sony ericsson W900i). I know, I know i went back in stead of foreward in choosing my next fone, but I love music and wanted to give the nokia 5310 a try.

well this phone is not made for taking pictures obviously so u cant expect much! get an n82 if u want a good camera.. this is more for sport activities or just everyday use..Its light and durable you plug in to your aux in your car and there u go you got a surround sound for a phone no need a headset i think its a good phone for its purpose!!

i just bought this fone i had a 6300 b4 its screen resoultion was great but i find this fones a little low so can this b increased??

the phone is not so good the camera is 1.3 megapixel i think, no autofocus and tje price is high

ver 5.81 is great no probs in phone u can download it from nokia website there is new function added in phone u have call duration while talking cool.....

yes you are right 6233 is really better, we just need to buy memory card & the phone is really good, yes avoid china & made by nokia too

hello i own 5310 nw v5.81
my suggestion to all who are thinking to buy 5310
please check out nokia 6233 , it may not be slim like it but its really loudest compared to any, the software in it is the same & better if u update it to the latest
5310 compared to 6233, 5310 is slim, has xpressmusic
6233 is loudest of all when in equalizer u customize all bars to highest,little bigger, battery is 1100 mah !!,good build, whre as 5310 is crap 860mah, 6233 camera is 10 times better than 5310
buy 6233 , avoid china battery & made by nokia

1.Why can't my Nokia 5310 view files that has an .mp4 file extension?
2.And my battery doesn't last for 48hours?
3.If this is an express music edition, why is the volume too soft...it can hardly be heard rather than N5700...
4.How can we know that our cellphone is original?because here in the Philippines there are so many fake phones for sale...How can you assure or guarrantee that mine is not?

why most of you say the ring is low,i have the latest software,is fast,louder,slim and very attractive,the sensation in hand is very smooth,i bought yesterday,the ring are loud,much louder than nokia 6300,and like design is very sexy,i like-it a lot,tks Nokia!!

I bougth a brand new one last saturday in Bangalore.(4GB). I paid some 10K rupees. Software version, When I pressed *#0000# is 5.81.. So far I have no problems.. Its amazing fone. My rating for this fone is 8 in 10.
I read so many of ur opinions here. some said its good fone, some other said its the worst fone.
But the truth is its good and nice fone..
For those who want to buy this fone, here are my suggestions:-
->Make sure it is the brand new one(original nokia phone). No second hand fone is good.
->Its better to buy it from Nokia showroom than from a grey market. If you buy from nokia show-room you will get full after sale service from many nokia service centers.
->Make sure that the seal on the fone box is not broken.
->Once you get the fone on your hand, Open immediately and check details like manufacturing date, repaired date, life timer, and all other stuffs.. by pressing *#war0anty#.
->See to it that repaired date is not set. life timer is 0 and also make sure that purchase date is not set.
->About The firmware version, If it is 5.81 (in ASIAN countries) or 3.63 (in the western countries), then its cool but if it is not, do not be dissappointed amigo, you can easily load the latest ones.
