everything else rocks.. buh keep a tube of superglue or sumthin handy.. da freaking keypad mite probably fall off when u'r in da middle of da convo.. da batteryz suck too nokia shud reaaly do sumthin bout da battz else a gr8 fone when it comes to speed and user friendlyness.. da sports feature is amazing..

Mine lasted on four months before the keypad came off.
Buy a different phone!

Hi All
I am getting another phone (on insurance) and have been given a few options. I need to make my choice today 11/07/07 and have narrowed the choices down to the 3110 Classic and the 5500. I read that the majority of people have had lots of problems with the keypad. Other than this fault is there anything else that should deter me from choosing this phone as I it'll be a phone my hubby uses (and he is a tradesman and doesn't have very much luck with phones). Thank you all for your help.

its quite stylish but actually it sucks....i bought one and loved the features but later on the keypad started becoming annoying and the keypad entirely came off. the numbers are so hard to press

Waterproof!!I put the phone through an industrial front loader washing machine and it still works. The memory card doesn't but the rest is still good. I think this is what made my number pad lift off..

This phone is AMAZING ( No keypad problems ever)
I use Tom Tom GPS through bluetooth and no issues whatsoever. I am computer industry and trust me I tested this phone inside and out. LOVE the flashlight. Most amazing phone

Hi people, one advice from me regarding this sporty mobile: DON'T BUY THIS MOBILE!!
I bought one, worked fine for 2 months then the rubber keypad torn off totally. Tried to glue it by some special glue but failed. Showed it to Nokia service, replied me reluctantly with no solution. Its the 1st rubbish mobile that Nokia EVER MADE! The keypad construction wasn't made carefully, neither solid nor made at least by other materials, plastic for an example. It features almost everything with its compact size and design but failed with its keypad construction. The mobile is totally worn out now, and i can't find a solution to fix it, but to buy another mobile, but this time hopefully a pocket pc!

i used to have this fone..luv it but lost =(
but my problem is...i didnt get to choose it looks better in real den on pics..btw when i message someone it took like minute..
den when i changed to singtel cant messege at all..but the camera is really great ;)

This phone is the best waste of money. The keypad peals off after 6 weeks! Fact. I got the t-shirt with the phone. I guess i missed the fineprint somewhere.

well, rumors about keypad are true, it really does eventually rip off, but it's no big deal, because few drops of glue fixes it once and for all..:) the shape of this phone is a classic bar, so that means it's durable, no moving parts (like sliders or flippers), metallic casing and rubber parts makes it even tighter, so this phone could easily pretend to outdoor class.. it's rectangle shaped display isn't there with no reason, it's there because such screen is more resistant to splashes.. the flashlight is very handy attribute, camera works fine.. the only cons could be poor battery life, extreme lag while working with short messages when their number reaches ~ >1000 and quite poor default set of applications.. I personally miss few things found in non-symbian nokia phones, such as auto-keylock, speed and so on..

We have this as a company mobile at work. What I find funny, is that the phone itself is a tank. Durable. Yet the rubberised keypad falls apart rather quickly.

Man This phone is a big screw up man......The Functions are good... But Body shape and design sucks big time it looks like a Grand Pa....Man nokia People should come out with something better In Design Metalic....with combination with rubber...Better camera, Slide, Larger screen, Stylish keypad....and Color should be awesome.....Well i am using 5500 and very disappointed.

Caution, don't update firmware to 3.55, it sucks. Plenty errors and service drops and update...
please take this advice..

the peeling keypad is covered under warranty by nokia because they used a faulty glue, just take it into a service centre and they will fix it

ok..bought this phone in late april..keypad peeled in late may...
ok here's the solution...
Peel keypad till all the numbers are off.
Get some all purpose glue and a match stick.
Take up some glue with the match stick and place on the inner edges where the key pad rests. Place some on the ribs going across.
Wait ah while about 5 minutes until dry to touch and then press and hold down the keypad with the palm of your hand for 5 minutes..

aye...the problem with the keypad is common and disturbing...and after warranty period expires...we will be scewed...
