Hi mona

there's something you can install to speed up the texting. its a known issue for 5500 sport and any other symbian 9.1 (version 3).
go to
http://europe.nokia.com/A4273040
and download SMS Accelerator and install it in your 5500 sport.
you should've told that to the nokia agent as well becoz they can upgrade your phone's firmware or install the SMS Accelerator themselves for free.

im also from the philippines by the way =)

got the 5500 as a christmas gift 2006. keypad started peeling off by february 2007. spilled beer onto it last april with the peeling keypad but experienced no problems. finally got a nokia agent to replace the full face/cover at no charge because it is still under warranty (i'm in the philippines). now its like brand new. still happy with it except it takes forever to send text messages.

to arafat: well you can do 2 things, 1) install a new firware, or reinstall the actual(use nokia pc suite, there is the option) and if that dosen't repair your problem that means that is a hardware problem(you brake it) so 2) take it to a service estore ;) good look

red allert.first troyan for s60 and symbyian9.1 is internet.working something like that-every time when downloade video, codeck ore something else have risk to catch-sending sms from your phone to many adresses,so dont surprise at end of month if your beel is 10$ more.to evrebody-pleaase instal some antivirus.madpanas

I bought dis phone at least a month ago and still i have no problems with it. Its got tons of features from being a secretly s60 symbian 9.1 3rd ed phone, nice software for mp3 player, 3-d sensor, 2mp camera, small and handy!,and very durable! It does not even shout out for its price!

I guess, d only thing i dont like about it is the 1-day battery lyf... and also, it's no 3g! Well, you couldn't get all you want from a phone...

Generally good phone - but the following basic features, which one normally takes for granted are missing....

                                    1. Message (Inbox/Outbox/Sent)counters
                                    2. When a file is transferred via Bluetooth (from another phone), the file is sent as a SMS, which defaults to Phone memory. So if a big file is transferred and if the phone memory is insufficient, one cannot configure the default the 'Memory Card'
                                    3. GOTO menu, which was quite a useful shortcut in earlier phones
                                    4. Photos / Images cannot be attached at the GROUP level - only at the individual CONTACT level
                                    5. Repeat Alarm
                                    6. The headphones that come with the kit is very bad

Heh, Sports Application uses much battery power? I DON'T THINK SO...........................

The fact is it is Running Symbian s60 3rd Edition right? Try using Taskman, and you'll laugh............

I work for vodafone in Ireland and have sold a high amount of these phones since its release here last week and so far no problems. However the general opinion is that it does not do justice to its "predecessor", the 5140i.
Feedback from my consumers suggests that a slightly modified 5140i with bluetooth and an improved camera would have been ideal.
On first impression the phone appears to be very well equipped similar to the n73 infact. But it remains to be seen how it will perform...
