cyber-shot under dog, 25 Apr 2010yeah. . just got my 5530 back from nokia care (my touch scr... moreoh an update I found out that my problem was a software problem. . during calls volume adjustments are ok. . but I don't seem to know what's going on with my music player. . . even hard resetting seems useless. . any other options?
And every time I started the music player its searching for music and podcasts but I didn't encounter this before the Nokia care repair. . then if I refresh my library, it says 0 tracks found (and it doesn't end it just goes on and on until I hit the stop button). . but as I click the all song my songs are still there. . .

Nuwan, 25 Apr 2010Dear cyber-shot under dog, I have to agree with you brot... moreyeah. . just got my 5530 back from nokia care (my touch screen panel was defective so they changed a new one) but there's a problem in my music player. . it could be a software bug or one of the connectors has been loose. . ok here's the problem (I even tried hard resetting it,resetting it and taking off the battery and it still doesn't get my problem fixed) the loudspeaker isn't going loud nor isn't going low, even through the earphones even if I press volume up or down,the volume hasn't changed,it stays that way. . . Going to bring it back to Nokia Care to check it back, and I'm gonna extend the warranty for reassurance. . it costs 750 pesos for my phone to get the warranty extended. . kinda expensive but helpful I hope. . .ahaha! need this phone badly

I have to agree with you brother... For me, I love SE GUI more than Nokia GUI... If we compare same color screen two mobiles Nokia and SE, we can see SE wins by colors... (i.e. SE 256k colors is almost same as Nokia's 16M colors...!) I know it's weird but that's true... SE has it's own technology of software GUI so SE mobiles make us believe they've got really beautiful colors... And overall performance of GUI with very cool animation effects.. That's something really great in SE... Regarding these animations of menus and effects, Nokia still far behind than SE...
On the other hand, for Smart phone lovers yeah... It's true SE mobiles can't come near to Nokia's smart features.. For an example, if you want to create, open and edit Microsoft Office 2007 document then Nokia Smart phones are capable of doing so... But in most of SE mobiles it's only a dream... There's actually a limit for JAVA mobile software... But Symbian Software (sis - Software installation script) that limit is broader than that of JAVA..
I would love to have a mobile which has,
1) Smart phone capabilities of Nokia
2) Camera of SE (or Samsung)
3) GUI (animations and effects) of SE (or Apple)
4) Reliability of Nokia
5) Durability of Nokia
6) Music quality of Apple (or Nokia)
7) Style of HTC (but smaller/thinner would be better)
8) Price of Samsung (with loads of features..!)
But yeah... That would have been a dream phone... I would rather stick with my Nokia 5530 at the moment until someone arises with the production of above ideal mobile (for me actually)...

We're not here to argue with peop... moreAs much I love the Software of the SE phones (can't you see my name "cyber-shot under dog" that's how I love SE phones)it's really a good software. . even not a smart phone it has threaded sms view, even multi-tasking and the gallery is so perfect (even better than the itouch's music player was beaten) making it on par with other smart phones. . but it has it's own limitations. . it can't support other software,except for java of course. . that's why I bought a smart phone, cause I need softwares. .
but in my heart SE is foreva! !

Brother... We're not here to argue with people... I can understand your enthusiasm towards Nokia symbian mobiles... And in the same way we have to understand his (that person who loves JAVA application in SE mobiles) enthusiasm towards SE Java phones..
If and only if he is wrong on something, then we can comment on that mistake of him just with the hope of making him correct... Not as a debate...
Because after all, we all are human beings... Brothers and sisters in same kind... It's not a good thing we fight/debate with our own kind just due to machines and brand names... They (Nokia, Samsung or SE) will do their marketing and sell their mobiles... It's just business.. We don't have to take anything personal on that.. Everybody loves their own mobiles... Regardless of the fact what they've got in their mobiles..
We do mistakes... but let's not make them even after knowing that as a mistake... Right..?
Let him talk about what he prefers... If you think he is misleading the people who're reading the comments... Then only you should do something just to make him correct and not to make him angry or make him an enemy of you.. And your intention should solely be to help another human being...

Hei... I've got this idea that you should copy your music files only in to folder named "Music" in your memory card... I can't confirm this but I think you better check your memory card again whether you've put all your music files in to that particular folder... (Of course you can create sub folders and all... Inside 'Music' folder and they'll be identified by the Music library...)
Please try this and refresh the Music library in Music player.. I hope you haven't formatted your memory card yet... Immediately I got this idea I came to GSMarena just in case you've not formatted your memory card yet..

I recall the same complaint came out from somebody else too... However I have to say that it's not a common fault of 5530 as my one is performing fair enough without any freezing or restarting problem..
You said you've updated the firmware but haven't mentioned to which firmware version... Is it V 20.0.080...? Because so far it's the final update for 5530.... (Certain countries still doesn't support it though...)
After all, you've done the best thing by sending the faulty item to Nokia care center... Normally Nokia treats its customers very well and responds pretty fast... One of my friend had a trouble in his mobile and got a brand new replacement within just 15 minutes... But this may vary country to country... As we can see now, in your country it's bit unpleasant as they already have taken 15 whole days...!
About this unfair delay, you can still file a complaint against particular Nokia care center, to the Nokia customer complaints in www.nokia.com at web...

Yeah... Totally agree with you brother... I think most of people who're willing to buy an expensive phone don't know the exact meaning of 'SMART' mobile... If they know the meaning of it well enough, they'll not even compare those feature rich but NOT SMART phones with Nokia Smart phones...
If someone compares Samsung Omnia HD with Nokia 5530 together with the fact that Samsung Omnia HD also is a Smart mobile, then that's fair enough... But how come someone can just compare ordinary Samsung phones with Nokia smart mobiles just due to the fact those phones have lots of features...! I don't understand..
But on the other hand, we have to respect people those who're not willing to discover more and more and who're ok with what they've got in front of their eyes... For them, Not smart feature rich phones could be better choices rather than more complicated smart phones...

The software you're looking for is 'Free i-sms'
It makes threaded SMS view possible in Nokia 5530 Xpress Music and it's indeed a very good application...
Please register in www.dotsis.com and search for above mentioned software.. (I think you'll have to either sign the application or hack your mobile first...)

I can't say how much I loved this phone. The price is right, features are great and it is super easy to use. Very friendly. Recommend.

I loved this mobile! good features, good speed and batery life. Its easy to use. I use almost all the features... dont have a lot of unuseless things. Recommended!
