I personally like this one more than the 5800 XM.
No cheap materials have been used on this phone and those that encounter problems with it should reset it to the initial settings or make the software update.
After that for sure you will have no other problems with it.

Nuwan, 24 Feb 2010Dear NA,
You seem to have a serious bug in your mobile..... more
Hi Nuwan, thanks for such a fast and elaborate reply,
efforts appreciated...
I tried both soft as well as hard reset but it did not solved the problem and in hard reset (by code) i also did not got any option to format memory card.
The thing which actually worked for me was:
I read this in Nokia forum
Step1: Remove the memory card of your phone.
Step2: Restart the phone (without memory card in it).
Step3: Go to Application Manager and uninstall any application which you don't want to use anymore (like Amazon, Facebook etc)
for this step, as i did not wanted to uninstall any original application that came with the phone, i connected my phone to Ovi Suite in PC Suite Mode, i went to tools and looked for software update, it showed 7 new applications to be installed, out of the lot i chose the smallest one and it automatically got installed in the phone memory without any error.
After this was done then i performed Step3 and removed this newly installed application.
Step4: Restart the phone.
Step5: Insert the memory card.
from here on my phone started "behaving" like before...
I think this problem is because of some bug in the software and will surely get resolved in the new firmware update.
Nuwan share this with others also who are facing the similar problem. Keep up your great work and once again thanks for the reply and efforts.

Hi All,
Now the time has come to get rid off your old 5800 XM with 5530XM, recently i have purchased 5530 and gifted it to my Wife.....she liked it very much.
But before handing over to her i had personally done R&D with NOKIA 5530XM.....its scrolling is very smooth like iphone and also the Build Quality is very strong. No cheap quality plastic has been used. on the contrary 5800XM has cheap quality plastic material...
You wil forget 5800XM once you hold 5530XM in your hands!
Believe me friends whatever i have written is based on my true knowledge and with personal hands on experience.
All the Best!

Altaf, 23 Feb 2010dear nuwan,
I bought this phone recently i have problem ... moreDear Altaf,
Normally I don't use the default Nokia head set because it's very bad for such a great Music phone... I'm using a dedicated headset which doesn't include the mic... However I can hear the callers voice without any problem, and I talk to the mic of the mobile...
OK... To your problem... Try followings please...
1) Go to menu - Settings - Phone - Accessories
2) Make sure the first option (i.e. 'Headset') has been selected as 'Default' (Otherwise from options menu select 'Set as default')
3) And default profile in Headset should be 'Active Profile'
Now let's try answering a phone call... If that doesn't help, I think you better reset your mobile... About soft reset and hard reset please read my other posts...
Good luck brother...

Regarding your second problem...
I don't think there is such 'safely remove' option for this... What I do is, after making sure that all my work is done, I simply remove the cable from USB port... (That's bit weird.. right...?) But what else to do...?

NA, 23 Feb 2010
Hi Nuwan,
I bought this phone a week back, it worked f... moreDear NA,
You seem to have a serious bug in your mobile... I've never heard of such thing so far... So I'm sorry, I don't see any easy solution but to soft or hard reset your mobile...
Check this out dear friend.. This I found from Nokia support forums... Seems the same problem you're facing now...
http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/Can-t-install-any-app-unknown-error/td-p/630918
I guess I don't refer to the same person... (Apparently he's got 5800 and you have got 5530... Right...?)
Anyway it seems that he has been successful to solve the issue by hard resetting the mobile... So what I also can suggest is that...
Soft Reset will clear pending errors and bring your mobile to an initial state by restoring Factory settings. To operate this function on your mobile, the shortcut is: *#7380#
It may happen that despite you have restored your mobile to factory setting, the error still exist. In this case, it is recommended that you opt for Hard reset
Enter the code: *#7370# and press Yes to confirm initialization.
Important Notice: It is recommended that you save all important information on your phone (e.g: memo, contacts etc)
Note: I copied and pasted above soft and hard reset procedures form this link.
http://en.kioskea.net/faq/470-how-to-reset-your-nokia
One more thing... As you still got your Nokia warranty for your 5530, I strongly suggest you to go to a Nokia care center and ask their help what to do... (I mean that is safer..)

Ahkhoso, 23 Feb 2010Hi Nuwan and others, i wanna know from where can i download... moreDear Ahkhoso,
You can get Quickoffice and Adobe reader from their original website... (Of course you'll have to pay)
If you are not interested in paying them, then you may try in www.dotsis.com... But unfortunately due to some unknown reason, since a week that great site has been shut down... (A message appears telling 'Maintenance works' bla bla..) We wish they will keep their good work up...
About the certificate error, Yeah... as you said, even though you selected 'off' to check certificates still you'll get these various type of certificate errors... (Certificate expired, Certificate error, certificate not valid etc...)
In order to eliminate them completely then you must hack your phone... To eliminate them completely OK... If you are afraid to hack your mobile, then signing each and every application is another solution... But that will not work for all applications... And that's so frustrating when you want to sign a bunch of applications one by one... But if you've hacked your mobile... Then problem is solved completely...
One more thing... Hacking your mobile doesn't do any permanent changes to your software or hardware...! So many people are afraid that they will lose their warranty due to this hacking thing... Actually if you want to go to the initial state before hacking, you can do it within a second...! (Then you'll get your unhacked mobile back... But I really don't think anybody wants to do so...! When you see the advantages of hacking, then you will never want to get rid from it...!)
Regarding 'Signing' as well as 'Hacking' you can search in internet... Because it's kind of a process for a new user... But don't worry... It's safe and worth to try...
Good luck brother....

Junaid, 24 Feb 2010If some one is helping people, why is there a need to be ca... moreDear Junaid,
Thank you very much dear friend...
As this so called 'Nokia Admin' guy says, I'm not a Nokia Representative what so ever...! And I did never claim as I am either...
What I do is, as to my limited knowledge, trying to help the other people out there... Because when I was and I am in trouble, so many people have helped me to get out of those troubles, without expecting nothing in return... So I'll be ashamed if I couldn't do the same...
And one more thing... I am pretty sure this so called 'Nokia Admin' is some anonymous guy who doesn't have guts to reveal himself... Even if that is real Nokia admin, I would like to ask you,
"What the hell you are doing while so many people complains here without helping them...? Finally you've come to rescue them from me...? Really funny...!"
Again for my dear friends in GSMarena... I am glad you trust me... Keep in touch mates...

llllllll, 24 Feb 2010hey nuwan bro,
its been like 10 days since i... moreDear llllllll,
When I read the problem you are facing now, I remember someone else also had a complain very similar... Though I don't know what is the cause for this strange behavior but I guess it's because of a recent software installation... There are some software (cracked...) which will maintain some fake days in order them not to be expired... (Cracking method it is...) For an example, I have Kaspersky Mobile anti virus Version 8 which is supposed to be expired on year 2048.. I think what you're facing now, is a simple and awful result of one of those cracked applications...
Hei... The guy who previously faced this same situation, please help our friend here.. If you could solve the case by your own...
All I can suggest is that... As it's been only 10 days since you've bought the mobile, I assume you've not installed so many applications in your mobile.. If so, the solution is easy... If you can remember since when the problem began to occur, then the very previous software that you installed should be responsible for the matter... (At least that's what we can assume...) So uninstalling that particular software may solve the problem...
(May be you'll have to uninstall several software in order to find the right one... Trial and error procedure will be required...)
If none of them wouldn't work, then soft reset will be the other option... That should solve your case anyway...
Good luck brother...

Hi,
Does anyone know why the headset isn't able to skip tracks? It only works for the radio. With the music player I have to use the screen.
Thanks
