six_stringers, 22 Feb 2010Forgive me bro!I realized that also after i send my comment... moreDear six_stringers,
Yeah... It is like that... Each time when you remove your battery you'll face that trouble of re entering date and time... The reason is, mobile phones don't have CMOS kind of small battery inside so that's obvious...

Junaid, 22 Feb 2010Hi Nuwan bro...
lately, i've been watching the great work ... moreDear Junaid,
Thanks brother for your comments...
Regarding the firmware update question of you, even if you really don't have any issue with V 11, as Nokia has introduced a new firmware version you better update your firmware because it's the best thing to do... (Though we don't notice, there are plenty of bugs in any firmware... So with each firmware update those bugs are supposed to be minimized..)
Let me clear you about the performance matter... With the old firmware version, my 5530 always restarted and stuck with any thing... How about a one or two restart per a day...? Specially when you're middle of something, that's really making you crazy... So it is a performance matter... With V 20 update these things were drastically reduced so that I have to tell you yeah... performance wise there has been great improvements in V 20... (Most of the people refer the performance to this... 'How fast the menu and all that respond to you' etc.. If you meant that, then I think there's no much difference between V 11 and V 20...)
What I can suggest is, you're bit afraid to go on with a firmware update because of the previous user comments... If so, then why don't you go to a Nokia care center and ask them to do it for you...? That's the safest way and if anything goes wrong they will replace your mobile to a new one...!
My strong recommendation, even whether you feel a difference or not, you better update your firmware... Then only you can make sure, 'I have the latest firmware with very few possible bugs...'

jack cool, 21 Feb 2010hey buddy you compare a budget phone to a n series handset ... moreForgive me bro!I realized that also after i send my comment, but would it be more appropriate if nokia will put those features to all their xpressmusic fones?because of the designation as xpressmusic.
Hopefully,by the upcoming replacement for 5530(?),they will improve the sound quality.
Still,i'm going to buy this fone..it's so cute.
By the way bro,i have a question on the clock features. If i remove the battery specially when i'm changing the simcard, when i turn it on again,it prompts me to set the time again,is it really like this?
Many thanks bro if u can help me on this...

Hi my lovely people,
First off all i would thank Nokia for finally delivering something so beautiful. The phone is just awesome and the features are as good as it gets. With the conventional Symbian OS, Nokia has put in best possible in a compact size and price range as well.
When i call it beautiful, there are a few things you may not agree to. The 3G compatibility is just one thing missing. But for me, this is a value for money handset and has excelled in all aspects. The sound quality is awesome and the Kinetic scrolling is gentle. It took me not more than 2 days, to know ins and outs of this handset. So far, this phone has frozen just twice in 3 months, which is acceptable in a way. The task manager is well built and we can be assured of handset not freezing so often. Moreover, the crosstalk and the noise reduction features have made things more simpler for those of us who love Music. All in all, a champ from Nokia, which sets the benchmarks for touchscreen revolution in affordable price.
cheers

aintgonnatelu, 22 Feb 2010do not buy this **cking phone! the battery meter does not g... moreDear aintgonnatelu,
There must be a problem with your particular handset... Because all other 5530s don't have the problem that you state here... Yeah... Its battery is not a very good one for its class... But it clearly indicates when the battery depletes.. And the signal indicator also is working like a charm... In my mobile, it's so sensitive and identifies the changes very quickly...
Hei.. I think you better go to the nearest Nokia Care Center and ask for a replace... Because what you have in your 5530 is a serious bug as it seems...

do not buy this **cking phone! the battery meter does not go down, it won't warn you that the battery is depleted. when signal is down, the damn signal won't rise even you're outside. i tried to upgrade its firmware but no use. Though the experience is great, touch screen is superb. texting is easy and you can run youtube.

GG, 20 Feb 2010Dear Nuwan,
I'm a new user of 5530. I've been using it f... moreDear GG,
Here are the answers for your question as to my knowledge.
1) I really don't recall how was it like V 11 because I updated my mobile two months ago... But if I recall them correctly, V 20 brought 'OVI Store' as a default application and removed previous 'Download' icon from the main menu... And Kinetic scrolling was improved by applying them almost everywhere... I mean in option pop up menus etc.. But most of all, the huge difference I see between V 11 and V 20 is, the improvement in stability... With V 11, my mobile restarts at least once a day... With our without any reason it happened.. Not only that... Even after a phone call or some small heavy work, the phone always got stuck... (I mean with V 11 firmware) I was so damn frustrated then, but with V 20 update, everything disappeared... Now the phone works like a charm... No hangs... Nothing... So without any doubt, You MUST update your firmware to version 20...! No doubt about it...
2) I think it'll be better if you can do it... I mean hard reset... Please back up all your data (I mean ALL...) and do a hard reset... (Don't forget to format your memory card too...) Then after that do your firmware upgrade...
3) Most probably you'll have to reinstall them... But some of them may work but I can't guarantee you... And my advice is remove all the software (that means hard reset...) and format the memory card as well before you're doing the firmware upgrade... I think most of the people who complains about 'Phone didn't work after the firmware update' bla bla is because they've installed plenty of software and with the firmware update all get messed up and the result is 'Forever stuck phone...' So my advice is, forget about the installed applications... You can download and install them any time...
And don't worry about the firmware update... Yeah.. I also saw some people had complains about it... But let me tell you... Among thousands of successful upgrades there can be very few failures too... That's the reality... While thousands of successful updates will not tell you about them, only the failed attempts will promptly post here...! So don't get scared.. It's really worth to try... After all, even if you fail, Nokia warranty is always there for you to replace your mobile to a brand new one...!

cyber-shot under dog, 20 Feb 2010setting iso to high is better, sharpness should also be low... moreDear cyber-shot under dog,
Thanks brother.. Yeah you're right... But I don't think in ordinary camera phones would that be sensitive for higher ISO values... I already tried but photos got worse...! (Regarding sharpness also, the thing is same..) Though for a good digital camera what you said is applicable... But not for this camera phone... Am I correct...?

Hi guys!i got this fone for my GF last tuesday n i wanna share my comment n findings on this.i'm more on multimedia, that is music n video so i will comment only on this categories.the rests are all good to me.
1.i am using an N81 n when u compare their sounds n volume,N81 is far better than 5530.N81 is more crispy n d stereo sound is awsome.
2.d volume specially when u r in a headset,60% of N81's volume is already equivalent to d full volume of 5530.
3.video-5530's video is better, only the audio is not really gud when u play it with the device.
i haven't tried to record a video n play it to my laptop but perhaps it's pretty gud.
the rest of the feaures r gud for me as evrybody said in this site.
this is only my comparison....i'm not trying to discourage anyone to buy, instead,u should go n buy this fone.....because myself, will going to buy this one.
gud luck evryone n 5530 rocks
