Hey all nokia 5530 Users!!!
If you guys are thinking of updating this mobile to the latest firmware then as far as possible update throught the mobile itself.
Because
Updating through NSU takes a long time cuz the update size is around 130 MB whereas updating through mobile is around 16 mb.
And the very important thing is that while updating through NSU, its possible that your phone might not work even after the update was successful.
Now you guys may be wondering how did I know abt it.
Its becoz I have faced the same problem. My phone did not work after updating to v20 as I had v11. Luckily i had my warranty so I got it replaced. So I updated the new handset frm the mobile itself without any problem.

Hey guys, I had been using this phone for 2 weeks.. It really a great and awesome phone compare to 5800.. Just that this phone got no 3G and GPS thats all but u can upgrade to V20.. Well i upgraded myself.. To all Nokia 5530 users.. I think u can update through dialing this numb( *#0000#) after this a list of version of ur phone will be listed out.. After that.. just click on option>check for updates>download... thats all... alright i will put it in a simple ways:
1)Dial *#0000#
2)Check ur version whether it's latest
3)click on option
4)click on check for updates
5)Download the version they recommend
6)Done and it will auto restart for u
Warning: This features only working for Original not for AP ty~Take note

I'm a new user of 5530. I've been using it for a week and it works very well. I like it very much!
But I realize it's still in v11, been wondering whether to update to v20. What I afraid is that it will not work as well as before (as I read some ppl has problem after the update).
1. What is the difference between v11 and v20?
2. Is it necessary to do soft/hard reset before the update?
3. I have some apps installed in the memory card. If I remove the memory card during the update and insert it back after that, will the apps still working properly or do I need to re-install the apps?
Please advise. Thanks in advance.

5530 has got Wifi, Better camera, Thin & light weight body, stainless steel frame, stylish look
5230 has got 3G, GPS, better battery, bigger screen
Other features (like music quality, performance, OS etc...) of two mobiles are almost similar...

I m a regular visitor to this forum.Bt nvr posted any comments or opinions.So plz xcuse me for d lang i m usin.I hav a concern hre.
I m plannin to get this beauty thru my uncle who is returnin frm Dubai..Wil der be any pblm in usin dis in India..?
D reason y i m tellin dis is one of my friends got a nokia mob(i forgot its model no)thru a similar way.But it was nt workin hre.He consulted wth a Nokia authorized repairin center.But in vain.
So I was also a bit concerned abt this. Is the "hacking" method reffered in the previous articles related to this..?
Or if the ans to this quest is already givn..jst giv me a hint so dat I can search it myself.

I added some more photos in facebook... Previous screen capture software didn't let me take photos with accelerometer working... With this new "FE Pro" (Multy functional software application...) I could do it with even better quality snaps...

Dear all my friends,
Here are some simple tricks to improve your Nokia 5530 camera photo/video quality... (They may not work that well for indoor shooting... But we all know mobile cameras suck for indoor photos... So better we don't try...)
For best optimum out door photos from Nokia 5530

1) Set Contrast to high (Only by 1 level, if the light condition is too much good, level 2 could be better.)
2) Set colors to vivid
3) White balance to Automatic (But Fluorescent could be better in order to avoid too yellowish photos)
4) Flash off
5) All other things should be left "Automatic"
Now you will be given the best optimum out door pictures from Nokia 5530 Xpress Music camera (For indoor photos too, there can't be any better solution but this... But to be honest, this camera sucks for indoor photos)

However, if you're taking indoor photos using the flash, then keep in mind following two facts.
1) The flash doesn't work more than 1 meter distance... (Keep in mind that your photo will be awful when you try to focus things beyond that distance... Because flash light will not reach beyond 1 meter...!)
2) Set White balance to Fluorescent... (This will reduce the awful yellowish look of the photos...)
I don't have to say that 'Night' or 'Night Portrait' camera modes are not doing a better job what so ever...!

This will give you best out door video recording... But in door... I'm sorry...

Hei... I recently downloaded 'Smartmovie' the better version so far (I think it's 4.15) I call it better because it's got many improvements to the touch screen mobiles... (Though it's not fully optimized to touch screen mobile... It's better than previous versions..)
1) Video-audio lag has been minimised
2) Video lag itself (slow motion kind video play back) has been minimized (But still it's there when playing high quality video clips)
3) The application itself responds better
And after all, crack works like a charm... I will post the link here.. But at this moment www.dotsis.com is in maintain or something... I can't get there..

I'm sorry brother.. I still didn't try to change my fonts because with the default fonts I'm almost OK... However I'll look in to what you said and will do a search for it...
If you've had that particular software ('flipfont' right..?) why don't you try to find the full version (the cracked one I mean...) in www.dotsis.com...? Because that particular website has cracked versions of almost all the popular mobile applications...
If I found one, I'll post the link here... I also want to check that out anyway.. I think we can restore our original fonts in any case if we wanted to do so... Right...?

"YES... Indeed it supports multitasking...! In my mobile I always have more than 120 processes at the background running continuously (Processes belongs to Anti-virus, firewall, call blacklist, recorder bla bla...) and with even 5 or more applications at the background I've operated my mobile without any problem...!"

For you guy that have this question, please answer these two questions (1) Is the battery life so poor that it cannot be managed? (2) afer full charging, how many hours can it last ie if applications r used moderately?
