5530 is much much better than 5800................,,,!!!!!!!! its resolution is awesome..........!!! Very excellent performance,,,,!!!

OK.. Watching a video in 5530 is just as great as 5800... (So don't worry about it..)
From all the needs of yours, Nokia 5530 matches perfectly except for one... That's battery life... Though this mobile has a good battery of 1000 mAh, it drains pretty fast as this is a touch screen mobile with a 2.9" big screen. In that case 5800 has a good battery...
But all the rest, especially 1), 3) & 7) are better in this mobile than 5800...
It's your decision after all... Good luck brother...

Glad to hear from you after a long time... And I'm sorry about the 'wifi trouble'. To be honest, my knowledge about 'wifi' is very limited so I had to ask from our IT administrator about this problem...
This is what he said...
Normally 'No gateway reply' message can appear in a wifi device due to following reasons.
1) Wifi router is switched off
2) Wifi router is broken
3) Wifi router is malfunctioning
All above errors are related to the wifi router, not to your wifi device... So according to him, the problem can't fix by changing anything in your mobile... Because it's nothing about your mobile... Check the router and its functionality... May be this will help...
Try another wifi hotspot just to make sure it's not phone related...

Im planning to buy this fone can the users tell me dat is watching a movie on it a pleasure and is it better then 5800( don't need gps and 3g). My needs:
1) looks good & easy to carry
2) Good camera and video Quality
3) Excellent touch and fun to use plus frequent messaging
4) Good Battery life
5) No bugs
6) Watcing Movies
7) Satisfing phone for money
Audio No doubt superb! Thankx ppl:)

You can of course check whether charging is complete or not..
First it gives a message telling something like 'Charging complete, please remove the charger'. (I don't really remember what's it exactly.) But it's more likely you'll miss this message as it disappears in a moment...
Second you can assure that charging is complete by just looking at your charging indicator... When it's plugged in to the charger & when it's charging the indicator shows the animation of charging... When charging is completed, that animation stops automatically even the charger is connected. (This is the most convenient and easiest way...)
However charging for 3 hours is pretty strange... As I remember it can be fully charged by 2 hours... (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong..) I suppose you've not removed the charger even after the charging is complete because you thought it's still charging... Right..?
Anyway, the battery in this mobile (1000 mAh) would have been a very good battery for a normal mobile phone... But for a touch screen mobile with a 2.9" screen, this battery is very poor I have to admit... So if you complain the battery won't last as you expect it to be, then yeah... It's pretty normal... (I also complain Nokia about this weakness of this mobile...)
However you can significantly increase your battery life by following the steps described by our friend 'Haku' in his post... I think you've already read it...
One more thing... This phone is too sexy to hold.. So... During the first days with it, you will not be able to get rid of it... Without even your notice you will be using the hand set more than the normal, average usage of you... There's no wonder that the battery will drain faster than usual... However with time, when you used to it, you'll not use it as much as the first most days... Resulting few more hours by a single charge... (Exactly the same thing happened to me..)

I don't know why a person (who ever he is) advised you not to buy any nokia which begins from 5...! Because all the Music Xpress series phones of Nokia belongs to 5XXX family and they are among the best selling Nokia phones ever...! For an example Nokia 5800 has a record among the best selling mobiles all time...! So ask your friend, 'what is wrong with you...?' I'm sure, he is someone who doesn't know anything about Nokia...
So now with clear mind about 5XXX family, you compare 5530 with 6600 if you want... But if you so much concern about Music Quality and the outer look more than any other feature of a mobile, the you must go for 5530 Xpress Music... Because you won't regret...

N, 17 Feb 2010NUWAN, i have bought this set on saturday. it is a good ... moreIt is normal, 5530 has an average battery life. I just bought mine too and since I keep using the applications all the time, it drains a lot. Just set the brightness low enough to see, turn off the touch screen tone and vibration off and lower the volume to save you some energy. :)

I own a 5530 and i'm very happy with it, I know it isn't a great phone, but is very cheap... i just don't like the battery life time.... with the wifi on it just last for like one day.. and besides it is kinda slow.. it is just what I expected for that price

i have bought this set on saturday. it is a good phone but my battery drains so fast,it stays about a day by moderate use. is it normal?
if it is not then what should i do to save my battery life for long (i've already installed battery saver in my phone)?????????

5530 is very good fone to own,the only prob is the fm radio is hardly heard even when turned up full volume,and its not me going deaf either.
