Dear Cyber-Shot under dog (Or any other person who knows better),
I thought to ask this question from you as a mobile phone dealer in Philippines (both SE and Nokia) not only that you have a kind of special knowledge in particular areas.
This is regarding the Audio (Music) quality tests of GSMarena website.
Their reviews of mobiles often have this Audio quality test results (Including frequency response, Noise level, Dynamic range, THD, stereo cross talk etc...)
But recently I am getting suspicious about these values and their whole test procedure as well.
In order to do such a test I don't know how many specimens they are putting in to test. (At least there should be 5-10 mobiles in each type in order to conclude an average value as final.) But I don't really think they are testing that much of specimens. Most probably they may take one or two phones in order to do above tests.
So, my question is, from such a small amount of specimens how can anyone conclude something...?
I highly doubted the GSMarena audio test reviews because I have tested some of Nokia music phones (5130, 5220, 5230, 5320, 5530, 5630) by myself and according to my ears, the conclusions I got ultimately were significantly different from GSMarena reviews.
(Very clear example, GSMarena audio tests says 5220 is worse than 5530 & 5130 but my ears say something else. Please confirm me if there are other users who've felt the same way.)
My logic is this.
I really don't think any company has that quality assurance level to maintain exactly same Audio quality chip sets for over a million mobiles of same type... It's just not possible. you'll realize this with following facts.
1) Nokia has so many factories all over the world with different weathering conditions, climatic conditions etc... Labor skills, quality control should have practical differences in each factory. (Though literally it shouldn't be that way... I'm talking about practical situation here.)
2) In each of above factories they produce millions of mobiles in each day. It should be really amazing if some company can maintain exactly same quality control over a million of products.
3) Nokia also can read these reviews and I'm pretty sure if they know about these audio quality issues then they will definitely do something about it. But what we can see is, they don't improve continuously. And it's not really logical as well. For an example, Nokia 5230 is a budget phone, but its audio quality is the best among all the touch screen phones of Nokia. Why Nokia couldn't possibly reduce audio quality in budget phones and increase it in high end phones like N97 or 5800...? But both N97 and 5800 has poor audio quality than cheap 5130...!
So what I feel is, these audio tests are really not that accurate... On the other hand, I don't think Nokia or any other company can produce such exact quality mobile phones for million times maintaining the exact same quality.
If GSMarena people could do their test for more than 10 specimens then they will find out, a huge variety of audio responses in the same mobile. For an example if they do the tests for ten 5530 mobiles they will find out several phones have best quality audio (even better than Apple) several have average (like 5800) and some have poor audio quality results. (In the same mobile...)
I want to know what do you guys think regarding this...? Please... I want some more opinions on this...

for those persons who wanted to own a nokia 5530, all i can say is YOU BETTER HAVE ONE YOURSELF, i am an owner of nokia 5530 and i enjoyed using it.

This is neither Samsung star nor Nokia 5230 forum... This is for 5530... (If you've mistaken something...)
Of course you can compare this mobile with Samsung star or with 5230... Honestly explaining bad points as well as good points...
But what you do is compare Nokia 5230 with Samsung star...! What is that...?

Touch screen works great.
I also worried about touch screen because I have never used one before I bought this phone.
So I was so worried whether I'll not be able to get used with it.
But it did not take more than a week for me to get used with touch screen, and you know what... Now I'm typing very fast... (Even faster than normal keypad...!)
So, my advise is, if you are worrying about touch screen, don't even think about it.. You will definitely get used to it and you'll love it very soon... (You'll not be able to go back to normal key pad ever again...! That's my warning...!)

For me I will definitely go with 5530 not only because I'm in love with that phone right now, but due to following simple reasons.
1) 5730 is thicker, bigger and heavier but 5530 is thin & light
2) 5730 has 2.4" screen while 5530 has 2.9" touch optimized screen. (The smaller phone has the bigger screen...)
3) 5730 has a slower processor than 5530 so you'll find delay responses in it than in 5530.
4) Many people complains about the durability of sliding ribbons in Nokia sliding phones...
Besides you'll consider the cheaper phone when it comes to the price. (5730 is expensive than 5530)
But on the other hand 5730 has following plus points.
1) GPS
2) Qwerty keyboard (Together with normal keypad)
3) 3G
And I've seen some people even like heavier phones...!
So decision is yours... Be wise and select which best suits for your needs...

Don't forget to search for free games for 5800 (not for 5530). By doing so you'll find more applications... (Almost all the games, applications etc which work in 5800 should work in 5530 as well.)
One more thing.
Very good games (specially with 3D effects) are very rare for Free... I think I don't have to say that... But if you are downloading torrents... You may search in www.isohunt.com for "5800 apps" then you'll find plenty of games which have been cracked. (But you can download them only if you have a torrent client installed in your PC...)
