My display is yellowish than 5800 or n78 because my brother & sister has that two.Mine is black-red.Is it for only mine or to others.Please help me to remove this.I want to get rid of it.I'm in badly needed of it.Please help me anyone.

@Nuwan - About the Opera Mobile 10 Beta 2, how can i set it using WLAN connection only? I think Opera uses my GPRS connection instead of WLAN.

About the fonts. I applied one. You don't have to get your phone hacked. But there is only one available Font for 5530 XM.

Dear Camry,

About your language problem... I don't know whether it'll support Japanese... All I can say is, there are 5 or 6 languages by default and as far as I can identify Japanese is not among them... (However I'm not sure about it..) May be asking Nokia - Japan care center would be helpful.. Why don't you ask the seller whom you're going to buy the phone from...?

About your second quarry about accidental answering...
It's not an issue as there's a screen lock key (like keypad lock in normal phones...) at the right side of the phone and all you have to do is before you're putting the phone in your pocket just slide it downwards... And when you want to unlock the phone.. Just do the same...

However answering the phone call there's an option on the screen too... (Regardless of the fact it's locked or not...) It's like sweeping your finger right side or left side (Answer or cut the phone call). It's very very unlikely this could happen in your pocket... Because we should systematically sweep in order to answer... I really don't think it would happen by accident when the phone is in the pocket...

I'm using this phone since two weeks and always it's in my pocket when it rings...
Never happened such a thing so far...
Believe me... It's soooo unlikely..

@sniper ive been using zedge.net to get free themes and i had no problem with it. just make sure though that you select the right phone model. u see that "no phone selected" in the top right corner of the homepage?just click on that. if u cant find nice themes for 5530 i suggest u try searching themes for 5800 and n97 if you get an error like "its not compatible with your phone" during installation,just go on with. trust me ive been doing that for 4months now and i dont see any problem with my phone so far. cheers. goodluck. and merry christmas.

Seriously can't wait to get this phone! Will be getting it on my birthday.. =)

As for the only complaint so far (battery) it isn't a problem for me, i have an extra spare battery from my 3120 Classic which uses the same BL-4U.

One thing though, does this read japanese fonts? Half of my music library is all jap and it'll be really annoying if all it shows is symbols.. can anyone address this?

Oh and, when the phone is ringing, can the call be accidentally answered while in the pocket?

Dear Nikko,

First of all don't call me 'Sir'. We all are human beings and I feel like being insulted when you call me sir... However I know you didn't mean to...

About your quarry regarding fonts... Yes.. I think there's a way. (As this is a symbian phone there should be a way)

Once I saw a comment on this very same review regarding changing fonts... (With the instructions how to do it...) But personally I did not want to try it as I'm satisfactory with default fonts..

I guess you'll have to hack your phone in order to change fonts... So probably there will be two processes both are being bit risky...

Dear brother... (or sister) I strongly suggest you to stick with the default fonts as they are very compatible with the phone's firmware...

There are several font types in this phone... (For messaging, Menu etc...) So changing fonts exactly matching your needs will not be that easy... On the other hand I don't think it will be as simple as windows where we can copy and paste any font to the fonts folder in control panel.

So be aware of what you're doing... If you still want to do this... Then search for the above said post in this site you'll find it... (No guarantee though...)

Dear Altaf,

About your question regarding "Bright light" our dear friend 'Nikko' has already answered so he is totally right... I don't have to say anything more...

To update your firmware you've got two options..

1) Through your phone (If your phone's internet connection is fast enough & stable enough)

2) Through your computer

Method 1)Go to Menu - Settings - Phone - Phone Management - Device Updates (That's all. But this method is only recommended if you have stable, fast wifi internet connection.)

Method 2) Do a search in Google "Nokia Software Updater" and then download so called application to your computer (Don't ever forget to download it from Original Nokia site... Not from anywhere else). Install it, run it and follow the instructions.

For more details search for "firmware" in this very site... (Use the search for comments box below all the comments...)

Dear Jeff,

I'm sorry for your inconvenience...

But according to your description, I feel this should be the first time you're using Nokia Symbian phone...
Because the crappy Nokia's gallery which mixes everything up (as you said) is very common freaky feature in all Nokia symbian phones (as far as I know... Correct me if I'm wrong) and I don't know who finds it useful.

So what you tell is true.. Nokia gallery totally sucks and when we concern about organizing things... It doesn't provide any sort of a easy way of doing so... If we have thousands of photos with hundreds of folders... Then this becomes worst and everything will be messed up in the gallery...!

But it's very strange Nokia still hasn't notified this big big mistake... (I think it's because there are people who only has few images in their phone and without searching everywhere they just want to see all of them in a one place...! That's gallery...)

However about your Music Problem... There are two solutions...

1) Free solution is,
Don't go to file manager to open mp3 files... Just open Music player... Then browse through the music player... If you want to select the Artist, Album etc... There are options... Or else you can even select all songs to play shuffle etc...
(But still you can't see the Folder structure in this default Nokia music player... That means you can't play a bunch of songs that you've put in to a single folder unless all the songs are belonged to the same album or artist..! That really weird... If you're a music lover I'm sure you'll understand what I'm saying)

2) However... There's a costly way to achieve above 'folder play' facility though... There's an application (unfortunately not free) called "Power MP3" and that allows you to play by folders... But personally I don't encourage those Non-Free software in any kind... So try to find cracked version of it... Do a little search and you'll have one... (Just like I did...!)

But above two solutions are for Music only... For Images... Organizing photos... I don't know when Nokia will introduce a proper solution...

Hello... Nokia... For your attention too...! (Though I'm sure you're deaf sometimes...!)

Search for Nokia 5800 themes... As this phone is still very new to the field, searching for themes for this device will not give you a much result.

So search for 5800 themes and applications... Almost all of them are compatible with this phone as well.

Or else try N 97 applications...

Note : N 97, 5800 Xpress Music & 5530 Xpress Music all three phones have same operating system, same processor, same resolution screen...

guys pls help me coz im so confused and frustrated using nokia 5530 xpressmusic, i bought it yesterday and i found out just now dat all the musics,pictures and videos that i've put into my cellphone using my computer doesn't appear in my gallery the way i've organized it on my comp. it appears like all of them are shuffled together and it makes me confused organizing it, another thing is when im going to play a mp3 music i have to go 1st in file manager in order to play my musics.. pls help me asap.. all suggestion will be appreciated..

download one of their themes there (.SIS) File Format. After that, copy and paste it in your "INSTALLS" Folder inside your phone's mass storage (Memory Card) then go to Menu - Applications - File Manager - Installed Files and after that you can install it in your memory card. :]

You can update your phone using Nokia Software Updater. First, you have to fully charge your battery and second, make a back up on your memory card before starting the update.
