I just tested the 5700 in military green at the store. Looks less of a toy than the red one. But still, it's a bit like a brick and I have to agree that the sound of the music player isn't a 10, maybe a 7/10 compared to the last phones from the Walkman series.

did anybody know how format the phone memory?? i tried the code *#7370#, but i forgot my password.. is their any other way to format it without using a security code?? my phone has a virus and i need to fix it.. salamat po.

haha this is definitely getting out of hand here with the typical never ending discussion of which phone is better.
as previously mentioned, all phones has its ups and downs. I have to agree 5700 so-called "high-quality sound" isn't all that great. However this is compared to my music player and a mid-range decent earphone and along with my computer sb soundcard with a decent headphone. So don't go all gg on me saying its unreasonable =] i already know it is but I am quite a audiophile and this is supposed to be a music orientated phone afterall. Also, just thought i'd like to comment that SE megabass definitely is good in terms of just bass. However, in some songs it totally kills of some frequencies and therefore the song just sounds very flat and... hmm.. no flavour in it being very flat?
Also this phone definitely cannot play 30fps at its native resolution. Its a fact that even nokia mentioned =] However!, this is only the case with its stock real media player. Try installing a good movie player application on the phone. I've done that and the phone Can play 30fps at its native resolution and has no problems in terms of laggyness or whatever. I believe it can do better than this due to some benchmark i've done but I haven't done enough testing to back up my claim of this. So its open to discussion of its video playback capabilities.
One plus that I really like about this phone is that it is fast =] for a symbian. That is one of the main major point I really like about this phone. Compared to alot of other symbian alternatives where even simple task like opening a new message or opening the messaging program takes a while.

here in the philippines, Nokia 5700 costs P11,000.00 (US $250.00)..from a high of almost P20,000.00 when it first came out..the demand for this phone here is very minimal..most people would rather go for Walkman phones from SE if they want music..

what kind of forum is this?no honest posters..all SE fans think walkman phones are the best & Nokia freaks think otherwise..
are you guys being paid by the manufacturers?
Walkamn phones generally are better in terms of music (esp with the default headsets) but Symbian phones are more powerful..that's the fact, dont make it complicated..

man!first of all u just misunderstood me,i m not rakib or someone else.But this is true that there is another ricky here.secondly be polite & use common sense.i m just saying that walkman sound much better than express music & this is the truth.w850i looks much better than 5700 nd this is the truth.the only two things i don`t like about 5700 is it`s sound nd looks otherwise it is really a good phone i admit this fact.w850 has clear & smooth
sound nd if u don`t believe me just try it.nd about video i have tested a 30fps crazy frog 3gpp video in 5700 and thats why i said that it can not play 30fps video.
so nokia users don`t take me wrong.

all SE walkman phones are crap dont have walkman type qulity the walkman monogram is just for attraction and market stuff ........i use sony walkman S series it has way batter sound quality then SE wakman phons phones r phones ..... they get high tec when they have proccesor ram and oprating system like os simbian.So they r called smart phone none of SE phones r smart and there price r too much just because of walkman monogram.i have used 6233 ,6630,6230i,6680,w810i,w800i,p990,but i dont forget 6233 because of its sound,video,shape.and disply.now i am gatting 5700 and i am confedent that it will be the best.

I'm a 5700 user so if you are looking for free stuff for this phone search these sites: dotsis, crazy4mobilez, series60v3, mobilecastle, noeman and so on.....search these sites they are great! (Some of them you must go to their forum)

i just want to justify that 5700 is better than your W850! Even my old W900 can beat W850 at all, except the w850's attractive walkman interface.... and 5700 beats my w900 as well.
30 fps? come on... my old W900 can played such quality video, so do my 5700.. i know N80 and N73 can't coz both used S60 9.1 instead of 9.2 in 5700.... so please try the phone first before you blast out your negative comment on our 5700 lol

its very good no problem with it like loosing or breaking or anything until u try to turn it more than it can be turned hardly ... its plastic but hard plastic not low quality plastic so don't worry about it ...
