On quality of music, once I have heared an interview with a professional musician. He said: there is no sense in equalisers. Even with the most professional systems. He said, there is no way you can generate a better audio quality than the professionals in the studio.
Also, you are going to use it with a head set. Probably on the street, or in the car, or on public transportation.
I am just waiting for a BH501 head set (http://europe.nokia.com/accessorieslink?s=BH-501), but I do not expect much of a quality increase, even though I have 320 kbs AAC files uploaded. Honestly, if you will sense any difference, you should go see a doctor, because there is something wrong with your ear.
SE, or Motorola does not provide a better quality on this price level. It will not be cheap, but you know what you pay for it. Do not compare it with a lower quality / price device. Does not worth the effort. Decide how much money you gonna spend on it and make your choice.
Any AAC or MP3 file is a loss to audio quality anyway. So which one is better? N95, or 5700? The one you by. You will love it (at least I could barely save it from my family on the week-end). I'll stick with my E70 in the long run, but I have other expectations towards a communication device.
How long the battery will last? Who knows. There is a fairly good comparison on the N95 here: http://mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Page=10&Id=3283. Indeed, the current battery capabilities do not support current multimedia functions of phones. High resolution display, 18 hours a day GPRS connection to mail servers, 3 hours of talking, BT alway active, radio stations running 3 hours a day and this battery is drained in two days.

You ate very defensive over other nokias especially the n91. did u just buy one or somthing? i mean this is a fresh new phone from nokia, and i am considering getting one and there is no way the battery will be flat in one day, its not as if you will be usin it all day ya know. as for the n91 and the n73. Have u ever tryed using them (unless u have bought one), they are not very practical e.g look at the keypad and on the n91 the finish is a scratch magnet.

You should read Nokia website more often. they give press more information about Nokia 5700!
also 5 equalizer does mean less audio quality! becuase look at N80, N73, N73 ME wid 5 equalizers they are no way near N91 quality!
Its just some people are saying 5700 gona be better than N91 but it aint in sound quality!
Music Edition are HYPE from Nokia! what does Music Edition mean? it means it should do the job as an N91! Nokia should have called all der Music Eidition Handsets --> MEL = Nokia Music Edition Lite!

to speculate before release is rather stupid. things on the equalizers? lol that doesnt alter the quality its just amplification on certain frequencies lol.
anyways stop speculating. its abit disgusting.

Shayn.....u're getting him wrong......he's saying....don't speculate...its not even out....as for the PRESS release......surely thats gonna be the specs and features on the phone..but to speculate without even it being launched...its juz naive and stupid.....and so what if it has a 5-band equaliser instead of the 8-band one in n91....n91 is a high-end phone.....its a totally different league...

n73 new firmware eliminate most of the bugs, and n series always has bug because it is a symbian(which is no doubt have more ability and Wseries, this is fact, im not saying that W series is bad, just that Nokia software is better), and n73 battery life is very good
Im looking foward to the release, hope that it is no overprice disappointment like the N95!

u should know at least PRESS get news directly from NOKIA & nokia mentioned 5700 having 5 equalizers!
So far all N-series had buggy firmwares N e-Series? so ur telling me 5700 wont have buggy firmwares n battery life will be strong? U work at Nokia so u should be able to play wid dem before launching!

To People who are going to buy 5700...
Basically this phone is false advertisement by Nokia. It is not a Music Phone expected to as the N91/N918GB.
The 5700 when it is released will how so many bugs becuase this is the first time nokia has ever released a phone with seprate RAM n stuff so therefore it will have buggy firmware.
The 5700 has 5 Equalizers like the 73 ME, N80 etc but however N91 has 8 Equlaizers giving it sharp audio quality. The 5700 audio quality will be same as N73, N73 ME, N80 via headsets but nothing to the reach of N91 audio quality. The only advantages it will have is the Dual Stereo Speakers & 16 Million Colour screen leaving the battery to be flat in 1 day!.
Recommendation...
If i were a person who is willing to by 5700 i would think twice. If you want a phone for audio quality then it will have to be the N91/N91 8GB. but if ur on budget by price then i would recommend you to go for a N73 n flash it N73 ME or get N73 ME which is better than the 5700. At least the N73 has 3.2 Camera wid Flash, carl Zeis. Also battery lasts for 3 days :)
for those who dont understand. ME stands for Music Edition.

tough competition for moto rokr... as 5700 has bluetooth ear phones and 3g .... the phone lacks wi fi thats all....and its the heavily and fully loaded phone ever made on planet earth...............guys go for it blindly...rs 20,000

i juz hope dat d button above d clear button is d edit key [for selecting multiple items easily] and on d other side, multimedia key.. but those r not mentioned in official nokia websites! oh no, nokia pls don't forget d "EDIT" key at least.. 3250 has one...

it really depends on ur taste, if u want larger screen with better camera and auto focus lens go with N73, on d other hand, if u want newer symbian OS version, faster performance and perhaps better audio quality than N73 (coz of d dedicated audio chip) 5700 is a great choice especially for young, music lover fellows!
5700 records videos in QVGA resolution @ 15 fps (i.e. 320 x 240 against CIF 352 x 288 @ 15 fps in most Nseries phones like N73, N70, N91..)
