I have been using this phone for the last 6 months.. pretty much happy with it. But still not comparable to iphone. You can call this one poor mans iphone.

The phone does NOT support PDF viewing and a software has to be commercially procured to view PDF files.
For DOC, XLS & PPT files, there is a free viewer available that can be downloaded and installed.

i would like to order nokia 5800 next week... does anyone in here will tell me... how does this phone works int he philippines?... does this phone compatible to our local service provider here? please give me immediate response... thank you in advance.

I really think the 5800 is really a great phone.....it keeps getting better after each firmware update....way to go nokia with v21!!!.........and the camera has gotten better.....but i still say if you wanna take alot of digital photos buy a digital camera!!!!!

Friends i just just have two questions:
1)if the there is a Word editor software along with Word viewer one in 5800?
2)if the softwares that are compatible with the normal keypad phones with the same os details are also compatible with 5800(it might seem obviuos as its a complete touch screen one and the GUI of the softwares shud be different still please suggest me)?

Innov8 is the strongest beast up to date and all Nokia phones were eliminated by it. I don't see any reason in switching a god phone for a layman phone.

now u can download nokia 5800(RM-356)Major 21.0.025 v5 (APAC)firmware update from blue-nokia directly.so enjoy hahhahha,in addition now im use my 5800XM with v21 HK haha good,let enjoy.

Hi guys, the new firmware v.21.xxxx is available for meni regions, and today i have update my phone withut using the PC or ather computer, and that easy and faast throw Wi-Fi hotspot!
I think nokia company have dun a grate job, that this device is a truly computer, a phone, a camera a movie and music entertinement, and all that in palm of your hand!
After i have updated, i don't see any changes in graphics, but i can fell is't faster and no lag, where right now i actually writing this mesage to you with this nokia 5800xm, because i em testing it's performance and i can tell you that surfing internet is impruved, it's much faster and scrolling graphics on the screen is much faster than in my laptop AMD 1600Mhz and ATI9000GP, and if i find the way, how to connect the wireles mouse to this phone, i em sure i will use this nokia as my desktop computer, at list i em sure i don't have to wory from any virs or malware atack on this device!
I have take few pics with it, and it sem it's better clarity, but i will have to try in dark ambient later, so fot you guys, don't worry about the update, just backup your phone stuf that you can do normaly self with your phone in to memory card, but anyway updating will not afect your phone stuff and you will have after update untoucht.
Find a hotspot that you are sure it works and will not be distorted juring your phone update proces, and make a conection with wi-fi network, and go to your home screen and open keypad and type in it *#0000# it will pop up on screen the software version infos, press menu and update software, than all the rest press only positive answers yes and accept, it is a firmware rom you are about to download and is about 35MB in size, and just relax and all will be alright it will take about 5min it depend on your network conection speed, but don't go away from hotspot before you get confimation on screen 'the phone is updated sucesfully'?
By the way now the wi-fi signal i can see it's stronger in the same distance, so goodluck with your phone update, and this phone is 'phone of the year' for sure!
