Really a great phone...Speedy, Nice audio quality, great software platform (Symbian s60v5), and camera is good with nice focus....great. i give it 10 out of 10.

anu, 28 Apr 2009Like the phone too much to return. I wanted to do all that ... moreLike I said before, I purchased it mainly for GPS and web browsing. GPS works amazingly, web had problem. After the master reset, web is working fine now. Everything else is a bonus to me. I love this phone. I will give it a big 2 thumbs up.

Spend some time on the net from desktop and found that there exists a code that will restore the set to original factory setup as it was delivered, which seems more extensive than the built in option. I tried it and SUCCESS AT LAST.

in my oppinion, the camera is too bad for the 5800... it's aweful, almost unusable in the dark, as the flash and the shutter don't get their timing right... it's ok on a bright, sunny day... i still have my N82 for taking pictures...
the rest of 5800 is just awesome, I love it, the screen is just perfect...

the actual unit is really excellent in the inside and the outside. touchscreen is very responsive and accurate, camera and video recording is nice aswell and also when browsing through the web. when typing there are 4 options to choose from its either you write it using the stylus a mini keyboard, a full qwerty keyboard or the standard sms mode. the package of the nokia 5800 xpressmusic is excellent. i can give this one 10/10 as nokia's first touchscreen device.

Wanted to use mostly for G... moreIf you have just bought it and its not doing what its supposed to do you could get your money back,,i use mini opera most of time..I got a nokia 7610 and it would not play some of my basic qcif mp4 vids off three network so got money back about 4-5 yrs back at carfone..Even if its faulty within 2 weeks carfone give you money back or new fone..Thats uk anyway..

Got the set just a few days ago. Wanted to use mostly for GPS and internet browsing.
Installed google map 3 for mobile and it works so good that I think it was made for 5800 specially. GPS antenna is very sensitive and accurate. The set comes with its own map software which is also fine, but I like the sattelite view of the google map.
I used a few smart-phones starting from nokia 7710. Some were windows, some symbian. This is among the worst when it comes to net surfing. Already restored the system to factory setting 5/6 times hoping things will change. Also upgraded the software from v11 to v20 but no luck. The program stops responding and I have to switch the device off to gain control again. I know it is not a network problem because the same sim card works fine in one of my window based phone, yes I have already tried it. Will take it to the nokia service center next week.
Battery life is very good. The screen is BIG and brilliant.

Hi to all, have anyone updated this phone to new firmware v21.xxx, and can you take time to let us know about it;s advantages or disadvantages, is it something new with software, and wot about camera..., thanx in advance!

the operating system needs a lot of updates. feels a bit backdated. N82 however feels a lot more pro. 5800 is slower than it actually claims. most of all picture quality is really not satisfying.

with all these companies sued the boots off apple cause their not that original as everyone claims they are
same design and 2 colors are not creative at all XD
a simple upgrade is not creative a so called 3.0 software update is not a big issue it happens to every device that connects to a network
my e70 went from v2.8 to v3.0

got this phone today from o2,sending it back as its a refurb and didn't ship with all the accessories,but the phone seems excellent

This phone is a great phone. (the best ever). the screen is great. the screen is very responsive, and love the full qwerty keyboard. though im a bit disapointed because mine did not com with the 8gb card. (I bought mine in Singapore). Dont wait any longer, you will never regret this phone.
