Hey guys. I have updated firmware to v20.0.012. Touch screen is very good. But the major prob now is with the display, it changes colours to red,green,purple and some times no display. Updated twice same problem.

Hello, I installed the software for Mac to tranfer iTunes files into my Nokia 5800. I added my device into my Nokia Multimedia Transfer BUT iTunes is not creating a folder with my device name. Then, how can I transfer musics? Why the folder is not being created? Thank you.

I bought mine 1 month ago, and it still works like a charm.
The photo is kinda crappy, but overall is a good handset. I like it.

the phone looks good, connects easily to almost anything possible, but is completely useless for writting SMS messages. but I guess that's probably the same with all touch-screens?
I'm also annoyed cause it's not possible to adjust main screen (except a few given choices...)

My GPS on my 5800 doesn't seem to get a locked position even after 10 minutes and AGPS turned on, does anyone know what my problem is and how do I solve it? I'm using v20.

I compared the Nokia 5800 to the Nokia E66, the only difference between the two phones is the touch screen and the battery life and stereo speakrs. The E66 has 110mb starage compared to the 5800 which has 81mb. otherwise not much els, the 5800 could be an upgrade of the E66 or E71, the E71 has miniature keyboard compared to the E66 which is a slide phone, no other difference between E66 or E71.I have had the E66 since Desember 2008. only drawback is the keypad, no backlite!! Nokia phones are still my fave above the SonyEricsson P900. no other phone comes close.

I feel that the phone was launched in a hurry to avoid losing customers against APPLE.....however, Nokia did not do much research on touchscreen.
Had to send my phone for repair within first of purchase...and not only me, 5 of my friends also did the same...all of us different problems.
Camera of this phone is not at all good...my serious suggestion that the company should provide fresh handsets(after checking them thoroughly) atleast to those who did pre-looking for this phone trusting NOKIA.

Hey also !!!......in GSM arena they hve shown the price falling drastically !!!.......doesnt this mean the demand for the phone is falling or something?...If demand is falling soo fast, den dont u guys think something might b wrong with the phone?.........

Hey Guys !!!.......could u help me......I want to buy this 5800, but many ppl are complaining abt da touch system. Does the touch system give problems in this phone?......and I read in here dat the video quality and photo quality is also not good.....is it true? Isnt the audio as good as, or better than sony ericsson walkman?...........

Hi,I am from India and from Hyderabad. I loved this phone after seeing the demo of the phone. I had prebooked it and bought the phone. It was working fine and all of a sudden the touch screen part started behaving mysteriously i.e when I was trying to operate the left side of the phone the right side started getting activated. I took it to the nokia care where they flashed it and said it was working fine and in fact worked fine for a week then the same problem reoccurred. Again I took it to the care and they said they would send the phone would be send to New Delhi and it would take 15 days for the phone to be repaired and handed over to me. awaiting my phones arrival,hope it will work fine and all ends happily. Now my doubt is if the problem is not resolved, I want to know whether I would get a replacement or not, what happens? can anyone answer my querry?

Recently there was an article in allaboutsymbian that N97 (of same platform) will have widget based Home screen, It will be great if this is extended to 5800 also. Then the Home screen will be fully customisable for users.
I am using this phone since last one month. It came with firmware V11 and I upgraded it v20 after chaanging product code through JAF (Now firmware is available through NSU for Indian users) and the phone became much smoother/ responsive with enhanced UI. I also hacked it with Hellox.
Overall the phone is good in the price.

I've just bought my 5800 two days ago, and I've found problems with this phone:
1) The camera is just fine in broad daylight, but it quite suffers in low light places, with plenty of noise in the pictures. "Carl Zeiss", "AF", "3.2 megapixels" might sound good, but in reality, it just doesn't. Even my old Nokia N81 with a two megapixel camera and fixed-focus can shoot pictures with better, more accurate colours. So if you're into serious photography, look away. (the 5800 is more to music than imaging anyways)
2) nothing else
Apart from the camera, everything on my 5800 works perfectly, I've never experienced any lags, the touchscreen is responsive, the operating system is typical S60 user-friendly, the audio quality is good(though I wouldn't say it's better and more accurate than a walkman phone), and it's got good battery life. So, if you can get past the camera, I would recommend it.

5800 is better than iPhone only thing what is better on iPhone is display. I will buy it if i will have 5 on the end of school year
