Bittu, 04 Feb 2009i m thinking to buy nokia 5800 frnds tell me how it is i on... moreI recommend it to u.. All specs are great, I mean great!!!! a little down side is average camera performance for me as I was using N82 as my x-phone. A little gap in the right side which can be notice in total dark as the light pass through it.. but overall excellent phone works like wonder!!! buy it

This device is simply outstanding and its excellent feature set and price puts it beyond any other device on the market. Nokia will be hard pushed to offer an N series this year with similar functionality that is a better alternative to this superb all rounder.

Well the 5800 is now on the O2 website and available for upgrades and new users. Ive just ordered my upgrade, cant wait to get it and have a good play.

BAD NEWS FOR NOKIA 5800
There is No Smily faces in sending text messages, I think Nokia has not put their consideration regarding this which is very important in our daily life and it is really sad news about it such a mobile with all high defination does'nt have single smily face boooooow to 5800

You have to make it for yourselves using the punctuations and symbols.. also If you want to use the simple U smiley, use the alphaneumeric keypad like ur using conventional keypad by hitting 8 key several times. In the full qwerty keyboard. click the key AZ left side of the space bar.. got it?

Hello guys i have a question for you
i tried to use the msn live on the fone and it worked fine for just one day, after that it keeps telling me can not allow login! i've tried to connect through all the connection types i have and still not working.
do you have any idea how to fix this problem?

Related to smily faces...
I have checked & there are no inbuilt smily face support in this device for sms.
However if you transfer smily face images to this device then you can add those smily face (pics) from gallary into the message content but it will be considered as mms & not sms...

If by constant sms you mean once every 5-10 minutes, and a few calls a day. I've been doing that for almost 2 days an i'm still on 2/6 battery blocks.
And I made a phone call to take up the entire battery life which took me 6 and a half hours.
Another tip, with the 5800 it displays it's battery as full very early in the charge, but i noticed if you want the best charge, leave it for at least 3-4 hours. I noticed that the battery goes down alot faster when I unplug it from the charger as soon as it says full.

can anyone tell me how long does the battery last for numerous use? like for example, 3 hours on sms and a few calls per day..

If you can not send SMS:es there is no problem in the phone. You should check your SMS center number and change that to your phone.

i bought nokia 5800 just yesterday, features is brilliant BUT it won't send messages i tried 20 times to sent messages but failed. Is it something to do with the phone or the network????? I tried everything to check but it seems it's the phone itself is the problem..I'll get a new one instead...disappointed...

Related to First Name, Last Name problem...
I have tried this on my phone & it works properly..
But In my case most of the contacts have the complete name (both first & last )in the last name field i.e. the first name field is blank...so in this case those contacts remain as it is..... Please make sure you have defined the first name in first name field & last name in last name field then it should work properly.
Hope this will help solve ur problem..

I just bought this phone NOT from a chinese seller and it's worked completely fine, the stories of the phone freezing up and so forth has not yet happened for me, the interface is very smooth, compared to the Samsung Omnia and LG K190Renior that some of my friends have just bought. It also has a very healthy battery that i've exploited by listening to music for an entire 10 hour night on max volume, and by the morning it had 4/6 battery blocks left.
I'd also like to know more about adding in the emoticon function if someone could please get to me on cutiegal.85@gmail.com thankyou.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2009so there is no way to on the front cam........man tht kinda... moreit is very simple for nokia, by making a software to activate it, but they will never put all eggs in one basket, something is left for the future versions....
But even my old N70's front camera works...
