•IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 01 or 10 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Finland which is very Good.

•IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 00 this means your cell phone was manufactured in original factory which is the best Mobile Quality.

•IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 13 this means your cell phone was assembled in Azerbaijan which is very Bad quality and also dangerous for your health.

But The feeling of using a set like this is awesome.

nirjhor, 26 Jan 2009thats great. russian set is good. in bangladesh, 5800(made ... moreNo Man Not Like That,

They make the cost according to the production labor cost and transport cost. And if ur set made in China does not means that its very cheap, may be the main system of a EU phone comes from china. And again if the set the cost in 1st world country low then how they make profit. In Asia who like to buy this set at $440 and if U buy a US version the U will not able to use that in other part of the world.

And Last but not the least 75% of nokia parts comes out from Asia.

i noticed that this phone can display wallpapers in a slideshow. i used 6 jpegs (640x360 resolution) that will switch every 1 minute. i noticed that when the phone is not on standby, it still switches wallpapers in the background. is this good? apparently, no. what happens is the messaging gets glitchy. also during video recording & playback, there were pauses (i call it choppy). in summary, the media playback wasn't as smooth as when wallpaper slideshow was enabled. i recommend, set the timer of the slideshow at longer intervals (say 30 minutes). setting it at 1 minute is too much for the phone to handle.

this phone offers great value! so many features for it's pricetag. buy it, i highly recommend it!

well, Nokia used to be my favourite brand but not after the following happened to me ... i bought the nokia xpress music 5800 straight after it was available in Dubai, UAE and i paid 440 usd / 1600 AED ... then it was stolen 3 days after purchase ... when i called the operator "Etisalat" to check if they can track the mobile they said it's not possible for them to do it and advised to call Nokia customer service where i was really disappointed when the representative said "sorry we at nokia unfortunatelly don't have a tracking system like ather mobile brands and the only case we can find ur mobile is when it's brought to the service center then the serial number will be checked after u report to police " which really shocked me cuz i thought that nokia phones can be tracked when stolen ... then ofcourse i didn't report to the police cuz whoever stole it is not a foul to take it to the "nokia service center" by himself if fixing is needed he/she will just take it to any small mobile phones shop and get it fixed ... so as a result of being unable to track nokia mobiles i am not able to get back my stolen mobile i lost 440 usd in 3 days ... after this i'll never use nokia mobiles again, unless they add that important technical feature to their mobile phones then i'll thik about it

                              thanks for reading

One more thing . If you still have issues with applications , just reset the phone with *#7370# or something like that . After I reset it everything is installing on it . But first be sure that you save all data from the phone memory ; the card has nothing to do, you can leave it there .
PS if you know some places from where I can get some applications for it please let me know :)

I bought this phone one week ago . I can say that it's great . I expected less from it but it's great . It's made in Hungary , blue version . I've updated it to the latest firmware (11.XX.XXX) and it's working great . It has never frozen or blocked .If you play with it , the battery lasts about two days and if you keep it just for talking and about one hour of music per day it lasts three days . Overall this phone is really OK but I miss my metalic e71 . I think those are the only week points of the 5800 : that it is made of plastic and it's not stylish . So If you like it's design just buy it .

the 5800 is the first(3G+wifi+megapix camera and so more) phone nokia ever produced. ya, nokia had produced 3 or 4 touch phone in past, but all were 2G enabled set. so,people were not interested much to buy those set.
