please dont buy this phone i am having major problems with this one . first the build quality is very poor . second the ear piece thing , how can you ignore such a basic thing we all need to talk on the phone rest all falls secondary . mine has even started to turn off automatically . i believe its time for nokia to really do more r&d before they launch their phones in the mkt . again pls dont buy this phone its absolute waste of money

zaheed, 19 Jan 2009first of all congrats!and did u get the bluetooth hadset???... moretnx zaheed 4 ur ans n yups i m doing da same tng wid da web thot dat dre may b some oder way of doing it through some settings.newaz its a bit annoying i accidently kip on presing da hyperlinks n making a mess.i jst hope i wil get used 2 it.n not lucky enugh 2 get da bluetooth headset.bt vry much happy 2 gt dis set wid da money i paid.did u get 1?

To dear craig
can u make me clear the earpiece problme is hardware issue or software issue, my 5800 red one has the earpiece problme otherwise no software problme in my phone.and i read lot of reviews the firmware version 11 making worse and lags,if it is software issue , is it possible to fix by nokia care center or not, i am from uae abu dhabi pls anybody let me know, except this earpiece problme the phone is great.

its a plastic toy phone with a latest symbian software, with regards to buit quality, its unsatisfactory. you could see the noticeable crack or casing gap near the secondary camera ( upper right portion ) somtimes it would hang, when browsing the intrnet thru wi-fi ( in my case ). nevertheless, it has good audio quality so as the screen resolution..

i have had this phone for about a week i would say, this has to be the greatest phone in the world, if not they i know its the best i ever had.... im still learning what this phone can do....

hey there , in order to fix the earpiece problem u have to
- turn off ur phone , take out battery remove sime
- get the the plectrum (a three-cornered-stylus, which came in the box)
-start to remove the upper panel Getting started is strictly bottom, so as to stay top of the plume and accelerometer sensor lights
-once u loosen up the lid remove the lid but plz note that the top and bottom pieces of the phones should stay attached- u can t separate them or at least i didn t do so.
-at the bottom of the bottom piece of ur phone u see a smaller speaker , use a tweezer to remove it it s magnetically attached , u shouldn t have a problem doing so; in the speaker there are 2 small bent contacts , it ll be easy for u to figure out wat i m talking about once u pull the small speaker out- these 2 contacts are loose and they re barely touching the bronze connectors underneath them , u need to bend them a lil bit more so when u put the speaker in again u ll able to c that both contacts are really touching the connectors under them.PLZ NOTE U NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN U BEND THEM AS THEY RE VERY SENSITIVE OTHERWISE THEY LL BREAK AND U LL HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM, U LL HAVE TO USE LOUDSPEAKER ALL THE TIME, WHICH I M SURE U DON T WANA DO .
PUT BACK THE PHONE TOGETHER AND TRY IT IT SHOULD WORK IT WORKED FINE FOR ME
BE CAREFUL PLZ FOR UR OWN SAKE OTHERWISE U LL COME BACK HERE BLAMING ME FOR MESSING UP UR PHONE
MINE WORK FINE NOW, SPEAKER WISE BUT STILL THE TOUCH SCREEN IS ACTING UP WEIRD I HATE THAT PHONE PERIOD I M USING MY OLD P 990I S E

joe, 18 Jan 2009i got the phone for $ 420 , very nice on the outside , too ... morewhats up joe, i have the nokia 5800, please, i need help with the volume, it goes up and down and sometimes i can barely hear can u guide me how to fix it without causing any problems to the phone, i would appriciate that. thnx

hi everyone.i copy some music file (mp3) to memory card in sound file\digital somgs .but when i refresh the music library it isnt add any file to music library. i can see and play the music file at file manager.plz someone guide me.tnx

I got this phone recently and its a very good phone I must say. The battery life of this phone last me 4 days with playing music, about 20 min. of calls a day and a lot of text messaging I really impress with the phone.
