hey guys lsn, im from jordan, i bought 5800 yesterday its 255 JOD = 350 USD, so the phone still has the price that nokia stated, anyway its a really good phone, very good loudspeaker its loud and clear, touch screen is responsive , camera is good, and overall its a great phone ! the only problem that it doesnt have N-gage but thats not a big deal .

I also advise people to wait until next year. Its price is already falling very fast from 550 euros to around 350euros. Its price should be steady by the beginning of next year. Although i have to admit, even though its pretty expensive at the moment, it hasnt stopped people from standing in lines in order to buy it.

In Finland (and other scandinavian countries), the price is widely 355€, so wait if you want, I'll be getting mine next week.

yes, i agree with u dun get this phone too early.
let the rich kids get them and provide all the manufacturer's defects feedback.
get the 2nd and 3rd batch where improved lots will be out.
but to wait for 1 year to get this phone, by then another goood phone will be out and u'll be wanting that phone, and wait for another year...in the end, u'll just stick with P1i. hahahaha!!!

I was waiting for 5800 too, but since it turned out expensive, i just got p1i and loving it so much. Its a fully functional touchscreen with so many soft wares and mods i can turn it into any iPhone, windows mobile etc..
I'm gonna wait patiently till next year to buy 5800, when the price would be half the original price..."

Dudes just wait, the price will come down after new years. The are only making the price so high so that the people in America and the rest of Europe don't import it .

I allready ask sentraponsel the official distributor for nokia in indonesia n they said its only cost for Rp.4.600.000,- (around $379) n some store at roxy allready sold em. I would love to have this phone but im kind of confused wether i should buy it or not cuz the rumor has it in 2009, nokia will releasing lots of new touch-phone n one of them dedicated for n-gage gaming.

At w w w . e x p a n s y s . b e it cost about €550.00
but for that price I will bay a mobile phone it has better touch screen size, the same camera but with macros to, FM radio, TV DVB-T, DAB, DVB-H and lot more, and it's professional device!

if this phone really became that expensive, like from the website they said around 510EUR or in rupiah it's around more than Rp 8million, eventhough this phone is really good, they will lose the market moreover if they want to compete with Iphone 3G, with that kind of price, people will still prefer to buy an Iphone over 5800.. in my opinion nokia have to consider to lower the price unless they will lose the market surely.
for myself, I love this phone a lot, and I've been waiting for this phone for 4months or more, but with those kind of price I will not be able to effort to buy one, and I might have to rethink about buying other phone. T_T

wow the price rose like hell. well my plans with this phone has just been demolished. realising that technology is increasing rapidly. 5800 did not even sit on the throne properly but nokia went and messed up everything with the nokia n97.

i use frings to make voip calls over Wireless Lan using skype out.
