just saw some vids of this device and it looks slow, you actually see the loading signal when browsing pics, and another is that it doesn't look that much touch responsive, actually have to press hard to get a response, at times i saw where he had to try twice to get a response. i am a Nokia fan and have high expectations for their device,i am actually shopping for my new Nokia phone but it seems i still have to wait.

a very nice fone.wouldve been better if it was an 8mp instead.....but still, i would rate this highly.good job nokia :o)

It kinda looks like the Iphone. But the design is much more worse. no offence. It looks really long. But then it has better megapixels than the iphone and is also a little lighter.

Raj, 03 Oct 2008I would like to correct the specification that this is sym... moreJust be glad you'll likely be facing software bugs and not hardware ones, it's not like this is Nokia's first touch device (just their first one that runs S60). Software bugs can be fixed with a firmware patch, just remember that ;)

For those that want a better camera (not me, I'm down with 3.15MP) then yeah, wait for the eventual NSeries touchscreen.

I would like to correct the specification that this is symbian 9.5 OS as symbian dont have 9.4 os.
Im impressed by the symbian touch screen.first s60v5 mobile which is compatible with older s60v3 application.
Got decent battery life.Nokia maps and gps touch interface support.
But im afraid for any bugs as its the first 9.5 s60v5 mobile.
Well n97 will have 9.5fp1 i guess...

rude people stop jealous about 5800
since N70, symbian are more stable than ever
and nokia stating use big ram for symbian phone

who told u that it doesn't has on screen query keyboard. And how can u say that it doesn't has good camera. Whatever u have written is completely wrong i mean r u nut or mad.
Guys this phone has 4 types of text input as u can see in the video posted on ovi. Also camera and screen is decent.

Nice phone, but people get real, symbian is crap on Nokia phone, slow and buggy, however the phone is really nice and a big step up form the latest phones, like the n96 which i remind everyone is over a year old and has just come out after Nokia milked the N95 cash cow dry. This still has no patch on the IPhone, i have been testing the Nokia 5800 so i know what am talking about
