possibly one of the best phones I've ever used, has a good selection of standard type apps and symbian isn't crippled like android is. for instance there's a free wifi hotspot app you can download and install and the java is 'real' java not the not java that android has, wifi hotspot was only supported by hacking my wildfire I had at the same time. Camera is also ace as it can take multipuls shots in a row and is very responsive.
another nice feature is that there are a few touchscreen keypads built in and they are easy to use, even with the stumps I have for fingures. Included stylus is also handy at times.
email works with imap, skype is supported, so is facebook (I believe), nokia maps are better than googles (since you don't need an internet connection to use them as the data is downloaded in a datapack) infact most of the things you'd really want.. and there are tonnes of quality apps for symbian or in mobile java out there anyway.
Why did nokia go with Microsoft when they where producing amazing symbian phones like this?

hy gyz my big bro gifted me 5800 i like it very much i thing this is best fone ever in the world i dont like samsung i like that specialy for its auto focus camera and its other funtions

Yasser, 01 Apr 2013hi,i'm facing the problem of : MEMORY FULL,CLOSE SOME APPLI... moreswitch off the mobile...now press green then red then camera key and finally switch on button..hold all the buttons for few seconds...u phone will become a complete new phone:-)but remember before doing this backup ur contacts to sim memory

I Love this phone! it's been 3 years and yep, it's still working good as new. never been repaired yet. but people how do you update this to OS version v60 up? Can't see the update via OTA or even the Nokia Suite itself. pls. someone reply to me. thanks. :)

been using this phone for several years... It is amazing. Very fast responses for most things considering the hardware and age of the phone, almost too easy to learn to use but without lacking on any major function, neatly organized, and let's face it, unless you're a mobile phones enthusiast there is indeed almost no reason to go from this to something newer.

The best phone so far, gud battery back up, nice functions, wee bit slow but in all awesome with no alternative in themarket, i m a happy user even after 5 years +......
